Funnily enough, I saw that tweet this morning again and paused my doom scrolling to see it for myself.

He’s obviously been told to unlike it and unfollow Lee on Instagram.

Welcome to modern football, where players are being shaped into robots.

Start of the second half he was involved a lot and Cardiff looked very dangerous. Since then he’s barely had a sniff and they’ve done nothing. Now been moved to RW

Really gutted he had that horrible injury a while ago. He was playing with a lot of confidence at that stage.
brilliant he has a loan in the championship and if he can play 10-15 games that will be brilliant for his development. Could really be a valuable player next season competing with Fatawu and Mavididi for starting places.
if he can return to play with the same freedom that he showed in the academy there is a lot of ability to come.

I watched the game and he definitely looks like he belongs at that level. So comfortable on the ball and certainly doesn’t look like he’s had a horrible injury.

A lot of Cardiffs bright moments Alves was involved. There were long spells where he was anonymous and the ball didn’t really go near him.

He's so good at keeping the ball and shaking off a defender. Played the full 90 too which is good for his fitness.

You can see he’s got quality and hopefully this loan will do him a world of good.

Like all wingers he'll drift in and out of games. Sounds like he was decent. Feels like he's on the cusp. Once he was one barnstorming game, he'll be their go-to guy.

Considering he’s barely played and been thrown straight into the championship he looks at home. I never thought he looks out of his depth. Promising for him!

1st start in senior football, first 90 minutes, will do him the world of good.

Looking forward to his first goal and assist.

I also watched their game, did end up having ours on as well 2nd half. He was impressive. He certainly is extremely comfortable at this level and any notion he couldn't get a move last summer to this level because he wasn't good enough isn't true.

Keep it up Will. No brainer to watch our U21s or players on loan over the pony we serve up in the 1st team right now.

Something that really stood out to me was how well he keeps the ball. Don’t remember him being dispossessed

Had 100% pass accuracy today apparently. Insane for a winger.

Definitely grew into the game second half.

He's only going to improve the more game time he gets. The manager obviously trusts him, having worked with him before, and good that he's already worked himself into the starting line up. Positive for him and positive for us.

Oh a separate note that Colwill chap for them looks like a very decent prospect.

I not sure it was anything to do with he ability, more that you need someone to want to take you.

No surprise the people wanted him at this level were Riza and Davis at Birmingham who coached him before.

The next 13 games in the Championship are massive, we really need to tap into the potential of Alves, Nelson, Braybrooke, Monga and Evans as part of our rebuild.

Leicester City prospect Will Alves celebrated a milestone at the weekend with the 19-year-old making his first-ever senior start.

After two matches as a substitute, Alves was brought into the 11 for loan club Cardiff City’s Severnside Derby with Bristol City, the Bluebirds earning a 1-1 draw with a late equaliser through Yousef Salech.

And Alves will be a strong contender to start again after he was picked out by WalesOnline as Cardiff’s star man.

Playing the full 90 minutes, first on the left wing and then on the right, Alves set up three chances, the joint-most in the game, and completed seven progressive carries, including three into the penalty area.

WalesOnline wrote of Alves’ performance: “A lively presence in the final third throughout. Was at the heart of what was an improved second-half performance.”

Speaking ahead of the game, Cardiff boss Omer Riza, who worked with Alves in England’s youth set-up, had praised the teenager, saying: “Young Will Alves has looked very lively, very bright. He causes problems.”

Reacting to full senior debut, having only ever been a substitute for City, Alves wrote on social media: “A hard fought point and a proud moment to have made my first start for the club at home.”

The draw against Bristol City leaves Cardiff three points above the Championship drop zone with 14 matches to play, and with two big fixtures coming up against 23rd-placed Plymouth and 21st-placed Hull.

Then Alves may get to take on Premier League opposition with Cardiff travelling to Aston Villa to compete for a place in the FA Cup quarter-finals.

Fantastic for the lad to get 90 minutes. A big step. So far so good.

He wasn’t going to get many minutes at Leicester
