80 million in the summer and only one of them starts.

That's basically what this comes down to. Duff buys in the summer have screwed us. Have no leeway to do anything now. This all started with Maresca leaving unexpectedly. Club didn't know what to do and panicked on new manager and players. Unlike teams like Brighton who always have a plan no matter what circumstances, we had nothing.

Think we are all resided to the fact relegation is coming. These players are not good enough to get us back up and with marescas words ringing true. We desperately need an overhaul at board and recruitment level.

If not what the feck is going on? I’m sorry to start another thread but there must be a plan?

They put the piece of paper with the plan on in a safe place several years ago and can’t remember where they put it so are just making it up as they go along

As a newly promoted club, to even have a chance the minimal you need is good leadership, excellent recruitment and a clear plan. We have none of these things.

Being promoted when you can't improve the squad leads to relegation.   We need to stay in the championship till we have am allowance

If we go down, we’re gone for a very, very long time. There will be no rebuilding. Mark my words, we will be in league two by 2030. Your allowance diminishes the lower you go, the negligence of this board will be felt for many years to come. This is when it all goes tits up.

I think u r right.   But getting promoted without money to spend is useless

They probably do have a plan to be fair, whether it’s a good one or not, but not communicating it is killing any trust there was left completely.

Whatever the plan was:

- it's clearly not come to fruition

- it was a shit one in the first place

- there isn't a plan B or C

If their plan was to be totally incompetent, however, they're absolutely smashing it.

It's not the plan so much....it's the objective and aims.

I truly think the club has no objective to be in the top flight. It's an expensive hobby. It requires constant investment etc.

I genuinely think the club sees itself as in the championship and a big player in the EFL pyramid. And it's a bonus if we get a new buyer etc.

I'm terms of people that work that (forget about Cuntkin for a second)....they have been there for years and years and years. Love being around players and love telling their mates they work for 'citeh'.

Fans wants success and demand investment etc......the ownership and those in charge don't really care.

When we were going for promotion there was lots of talk on here about how promotion was just a means to balance the books and we’d go down in a better financial situation.

It may be that this is the clubs view and they are simply accepting we won’t survive and are just being fiscally cautious and preventing a bigger disaster when we go down.

With the level of investment the club needs, a couple of 20m signings wouldn’t save us. I think we are just giving up early.

were the summer signings made focusing on whether they’d be good for the championship? Possibly.

They are obviously stuck with PSR. The problem is it’s the decisions that they constantly make that get us to the brink of breaching constantly.

This just doesn't wash though, does it?

Even if we forgive the money spent this year which has placed us close to the PSR line in the first place (we shouldn't), what is the point in avoiding a points deduction for next season? The alternative is relegation and a likely embargo once we're in the Championship.

Throw the kitchen sink at it.

Ideally not £25m on another Skipp, and while we're at it, can we make it priority areas that need to be addressed?

Is that asking too much?

Forest took their points deduction and continued to sign good players. Now they're a good bet for Champions League football.

If we were to get relegated, at least if we identified key areas, did our due diligence and signed well, we'd go down in a strong position to bounce back up.

Now? We could be relying on the same squad (minus El Khannouss, probably), to lead us back up.

Utterly, utterly depressing. Just a bunch of total morons running the show and it's infuriating.

So difficult to get behind us. I hate everything about what we have become. It has reached the point that I actually want these clowns to fail.

The thought of Top parading around the pitch following the game on the final day of the season if we somehow stayed up is nauseating.

That’s a major gamble. Because if you get it wrong in the championship, you’re in a whole world of pain.

i simply think that (we all know this) we just dont have any cash at all

the owners don't want to take a risk and inject their cash into the club as they know its in a downward spiral

I think King Power will sell the club tbh, when we do go down we need to stay there for a few years and get new owners and rebuild to the club we once were

but as much as you dont like hearing it we are fvcked and I agree with some in this thread we will probably go way down to league 2 at this rate, what a joke we have become, i mean we cant even sign 2 or 3 players in the transfer window for christs sake

I agree and the types of signings don’t make too much sense if that was the case.

You’re not being financially responsible paying 22m for someone like skipp… but there must be something because we are in profit for January which is madness.

Good question, and I think the answer is yes. KP has always had a plan. From day 1.

Unfortunately, that plan is all to do with shuffling finance. Absolutely nothing to do with football. Never was. We're a front.
