The bookies don't decide on points deductions. The odds just reflect betting patterns, which have been influenced by people reading about potential points deductions. They don't mean anything other than that.

The bookies won't offer value on the assumption a team won't be deducted points. For our price to be a lot bigger than Ipswich and Southampton, rather than in line with them both, tells me they're pretty certain we'll be docked points.

If we weren't getting a points deduction then the odds on Leicester being promoted, and Leicester winning the Championship, are huge value. Even I as somebody utterly despondent about the club would bet on both.

I have a feeling Ipswich might struggle more than people expect.

It’s really hard to turn around momentum for a manager. That habit of losing is hard to shake off it will be a real test for him to get them back to where they were.

Our team is complete trash and he couldn’t even get a draw. I just don’t think it will be the walk in the park people think for them

Agree with this. They like us habitually lose games of football. They were awful.

They will probably have the best squad but they're not in a good way.

I really do think Birmingham can go up.

My tip for the season is I reckon Chris Davies is sacked fairly soon into the season. I watched quite a bit of them last season and I did not rate them at all. Clearly a good side but he was massively carried by a far superior squad.

I didn’t watch much but they walked the league.  I hope you’re right because it would be typical that we had a good manager right under our noses for years and didn’t notice them

I’ll definitely be wrong haha. Just whenever I watched them I found them so underwhelming. Quite a few of their fans of Twitter were moaning about him throughout the season.

also i love when people say SELL the deadwood. Usually the main issue in selling a player is someone actually wants to buy them. In the last 10 years how many of our deadwood have we actually sold??

We are shockingly bad at moving players on.

The Squad, unless out of contract will be roughly the same as this season, just take out  Mads, Vardy and our loanees.

I'm not saying it's easy but I wouldn't be using ourselves as the example - we are especially dreadful at it. It's the sort of thing a good DoF can give you an upper hand.

Although ours isn't good, he's the so called best in the business. How lucky we truly are.

111 points is insane though regardless. They seemed a very consistent winning machine rather than a team that dealt out many real batterings. I wonder how high into the Championship you would have to delve to get a team who would actually get 111 points in the league. Would Coventry? Would Norwich? I have my doubts. I think there's a chance they're already better than both.

Plenty of teams have mullered League One and then continued to win in the Championship. I think they'll be right up there.

I’m probably chatting absolute nonsense to be fair. Be interesting to see what he does with them at a higher level with better players.

To be fair, Coventry’s record transfer is around £7.5mill and that was in 2001! And Norwich about £9mill.

Is it just me that thinks Birmingham spending £15mill on a single player in League 1 means they should have been expected to smash the points record?

Obviously it’s not always that simple but smash the history of spending in the league by that much and you should have something to show for it as record output! To flip it, you’d have to say they’d underperformed if they’d got much less.

Not particularly fancied by the bookies for next season. Ipswich and Southampton more
likely to bounce back. Russell Martin, I don’t know; but he smacks of a second rate Maresca all posssesion and definitely no plan b. Might get you up but with inferior players doomed to fail in the premier league. Pace and counter attacking style would surely give us more of a chance? Not a lot out there but personally I’d prefer Gary O’Neill.

The away days look decent, nice geographical spread too.

Was thinking this the other day, never seen it so evenly spread before.

I HAVE to get to ipswich next season.  Ive been trying to do Portman road since 1992 when i had arranged to go but my parents stopped me as we were going on holiday 2 days later and they "werent made of money".....as a parent now, i can see their point! .

Since then the gods seem to have conspired to prevent me going to ipswich, for a variety of reasons whether it be illness, pre arranged plans on game day, loss of job and a car break down or away on hols, not to mention not having several thousand away points! It seems ill never get there! 😂 Next season......hopefully .......maybe 😂

I'm with you on this, seen them a few times and far from impressed. Have mates on both the Peterborough and Barnsley staff who have said that they were not that good despite their record total, the quality of player they recruited for that level just meant they were better than many teams.

Jobe Bellingham leaving Sunderland for Frankfurt? Can't imagine he stays there for another season, especially not if a decent team come in for him,

Bellingham will stick at Sunderland for another season seeing as he's premier league plus a year or so if he performs a better move could happen. Borussia Dortmund keeping a watch on him... follow in his brothers steps.

I thought the transfer window wasn't open yet, or is it just that players can't be registerred yet?

You can still agree deals, they just won't go through until the window opens, which is very soon :D
Summer transfer window dates confirmed - The English Football League

Can definitely see Rudkin trying to sign someone in the week it's closed between  10-16th June lol

I do think Charlton will probably go back down. It's quite unfortunate for them to go up with Birmingham and Wrexham.
