also i love when people say SELL the deadwood. Usually the main issue in selling a player is someone actually wants to buy them. In the last 10 years how many of our deadwood have we actually sold??

We are shockingly bad at moving players on.

The Squad, unless out of contract will be roughly the same as this season, just take out  Mads, Vardy and our loanees.

Huge chance Bilal and maybe Soumare/Faes are the only ones to leave and we have a squad massively similar to the one under Enzo

It’s mainly because Rudkin is a complete plonker. He’s had bids for players in the past and turned them down as not high enough only to allow them to leave on a free a year later. I’d be having a fire sale, buy Soumare get Daka free with 50% off. We need these clowns gone. Unfortunately the bigger clown is at a higher level, the employment of Martin suggests the club want to maximise their assets and continue down the same road., Clueless but predictable

And can you not see the 2 issues here?

To sell him, someone needs to buy him and he needs to agree to go as well.

If we terminate his contract, then we will have to settle it. Maybe both parties can come to an agreement that we only pay 50% of the contract but there isn't a free option to cover a termination, and if i was the player my starting position would be 100% of the contract. If the incoming manager says that this player 100% suits my objectives, then terminating now would seem premature.

A lot will depend on if he had a significant relegation clause in the contract which would have meant that for him moving on would be an easier option.

To be clear - i'd rather not see him play for us next season either.

I hold hope that a European club will come in for him due to his international form.

Even if we had to subsidise part of his wages it will save us a lot of cash.

We do not sell any deadwood we just buy other teams deadwood for highly inflated prices.

People forget we bought Faes on the cheap. We don't have to sell him for a lot in the grand scheme of things.

Fruk for attacking midfielder might be ambitious, I like Jamie Donley on loan from Spurs, and I'm big on Luciano Valente from Groningen.

Striker is the tough one, Kvistgaarden would be perfect but likely beyond our reach. Kyogo would be great but maybe again, too ambitious.

Lennon Miller is going way better than us.

This is EXACTLY why we shouldn’t be employing Martin. It’s just more of the same from the same old washed up hasbeens we all hate with terrible mentality, we need the swamp draining not topping up with more excrement. Next he will be saying what a top midfielder Soumare and how we should utilise his talents, how Daka is a top class international striker

I don’t disagree just the sad reality

Okoli hints he wants to stay for 'rebuild':

The bookies have us coming 7th which I can only conclude is a pretty nailed on points deduction.

They deem us less likely to be promoted than Birmingham, Middlesbrough and Coventry.

We really have inflicted the most self-imposed, unnecessary decline ever. Never seen anything like it.

The bookies don't decide on points deductions. The odds just reflect betting patterns, which have been influenced by people reading about potential points deductions. They don't mean anything other than that.

I have a feeling Ipswich might struggle more than people expect.

It’s really hard to turn around momentum for a manager. That habit of losing is hard to shake off it will be a real test for him to get them back to where they were.

Our team is complete trash and he couldn’t even get a draw. I just don’t think it will be the walk in the park people think for them

That's not true.  There's many reasons for bookies making odds a certain price.

Sure, but I guarantee you that the bookies do not have any inside information on what kind of points deduction we will get. So the fact that they're predicting us to come 7th does not tell us anything about what's going to happen with any PSR breach sanction.

Souttar won't be fit until the new year.

If/when he recovers, he should be a contender for a place in the team at Championship level.

Bookies set odds to balance their books.

I would bet (  ) that there isn't really a book to balance yet and I would imagine barely any bookies would take any sizable bets!

Really know point taking note of any of this just yet. We don't even know if we are going to be asset stripped yet, or go in quite strong.

Jobe Bellingham leaving Sunderland for Frankfurt? Can't imagine he stays there for another season, especially not if a decent team come in for him,

Surely he would as there now in prem?

Champions League with one of the best supported teams on the continent or a near certain relegation getting booed every week.

I know what I'd choose.

There's a little more to it than just betting patterns. If a bunch of Charlton fans decide to have £10-20 on Charlton to win the league, they're not gonna magically surge up the odds tables.

They are a component, but the bookies will still take into account a wide array of variables.

One of those where he'd be daft not to. If he leaves it a year, he could be scrabbling around looking for a move to a newly promoted club after Sunderland have dropped and therefore strapping himself in for the same ride.

Lovely city as well, is Frankfurt. Alan Johnson used to bang on it. 😂
