It’ll only be a 1 or 2 pt job so I imagine they might try and get it done this week, especially if WBA have worked with them and accepted it.

1 or 2 points won't make the difference to us - but could make all the difference to West Brom themselves - so not sure why they wouldn't fight this/delay the process/appeal etc?

I can't see how it's possible for an independent commission to hear all the arguments, review all the evidence, make a final decision, allow time to appeals, process and respond to appeals and get to a final conclusion - all in the space of 18 days before the season concludes...

Just realized that if Portsmouth win in mid week and beat us Saturday we’re down.

Earliest we can be officially relegated is Tues 21st I think.

Yep.

If Pompey win their game in hand and beat us while WBA beat PNE then we'll be 8 points behind on Saturday with 3 games to go so we'd still have a chance mathematically.

Only when Hull beat us on the 21st are we officially relegated.

The rules apparently state that any penalties must be applied the season after the charge, so that would mean this season. Not sure how that'd be possible given how long the appeals process usually takes.

Also it proves that all clubs have fans think that the league is out to get them. Their initial reaction is that the league is doing this to try and save Leicester. Not surprisingly on hear, I also often read that the league is out to get us as well haha.

In the PL they have what’s called an accelerated process which to ensure any points deduction is made in the relevant season means that “charges” have to be bought by 14 January. That date even then makes it incredibly tight to allow process to be followed before seasons end.

At this point the club, WBA,  will have 14 days to respond to any charge. If the charge was laid  today( nothing on EFL site yet) even just that early phase of the process  takes you to  just 5 days before the last matches of the season on 2 May. The planning then  would then kick in for the work required to prepare cases for an IC. Again there would be time delays in built I would doubt that you would even get an IC to sit before end of May. Then you have the time taken to write up the ruling and when published there is another 14 days to allow for an appeal.

This isn’t getting done before the seasons end and highly unlikely before the leagues AGM.

Two things.

First we don’t have a clue at this point what the charge is in relation to. It could be a breech of the upper limit of course but it could be an administrative matter such as not filing accounts or the like on time.

Second . In WBA you have a club that wasn’t awaiting any other process to be completed but it’s taken to now for the league to get to this point. I am still far from sure that there isn’t something incoming for LC!

I would add that if say a club went into administration after the third week of March then the points dedttakes effect in the follow season.

I mean the league that gave us a 6pt deduction are now trying to save us lol

well tbh I don't think we should be to bothered about the West Brom potential deduction because were still 3 points adrift of Oxford so all this changes potentially is sending wba down along with us

Don't want West Brom in League One with us thanks

It doesnt matter who is in League 1 with us, we will not be coming out of it unless we go to League 2.

Naively probably,  but I do think we will piss league 1

As ever, depends if we get lucky with the manager. But I doubt it.

Skubala by the way I think would fail big time if he came here. Was listening to the NTT20 pod about Lincoln's promotion and they as a club couldn't be more different to us. The only commonality with Leicester next season and Lincoln this is the league. It would be a completely different situation to anything he has faced. As somebody with a bit of a vested interest in his career due to the Lutterworth link I actually hope for his own sake he steers the **** clear of this.

Why would Skubala drop back to the division he’s just taken Lincoln out of to manage a club that may be stuck down there for years? Surely not a chance he’d take it?

It's irrelevant. Even if WBA got a 25 points deduction, we'd still need to finish above one of Pompey or Oxford which isn't happening.

Is the correct answer.

Sounds silly to say in our current plight but money. We could probably x5 what he's on at Lincoln.

I mean we probably can't, but we probably would lol

I hope it doesn't happen. I don't think a single party would win from it.

I was just looking at the fixtures and realised the Charlton might not be out of the woods yet and the form of Sheffield Wednesday could see them beat Charlton. Unlikely to happen, but 1 of the factors would be Portsmouth beating us. 2 points from 5 games for Charlton is dragging them down. Good job I’m not a betting man or I’d probably lose some money on it lol.

Ipswich

Hull

Swansea

are the remaining fixtures for Charlton after Sheffield Wednesday away

They won’t be feeling safe yet. Especially when we gift Pompey 3 points.

Oxford are able to grind out results

I’ve always thought *checks notes* West Brom should be charged for their reckless spending. Ruining the beautiful game with their money.

Meanwhile a load of big clubs plot a new league and test every ffp rule to their limits. EPL - it wouldn’t be in the interests of the game to punish these clubs!
