You think 5 wins 3 draws and 7 losses from 15 games in unachievable? Aka a shade over 1 ppg?

**** me. Grow a spine and pair of balls.

We have lost 7 of our last 10. We have Middlesbrough, Norwich and Ipswich in the next five.

Let's look at the evidence....

Surely the evidence is that after 31 games we amassed 38 points prior to the deduction so, as shit as we are, evidence points to us maintaining "a shade over 1 ppg" which keeps us up.  You can't take the individual shit results as evidence and neglect the positive ones.  That's not evidence.

Come on mate, this is ridiculous.

Of course a point per game is doable, but you don't lack balls if you think that target is still unachievable for this bunch of tarts lol

We've lost to teams around us, struggled against teams around us and still can't create chances or keep clean sheets.

Or you could, in assessing the evidence, take recent form into account. All very well @Arriba Los Zorros saying grow a spine and a pair of balls, but I'm not aware of a scoring system that awards a shade over a point a game.

In our first 16 matches we had 6 wins, 6 draws and 4 losses. Total of 24 points. Next 15? 4 wins, 2 draws and 9 losses. 14 points. I  don't think that's an unfair or cherry-picking divide. Pretty much cut in half with the 32nd game to be played.

First half of the season average - 1.5. Second half so far - 14/15 = 0.94.

Numbers don't mean much if the players dig in and fight hard. But it does suggest that Southampton is a must win to get our average a shade over 1 in over the last 16 matches. And last match we were down to 10 men against the 10th placed team and lost. Oxford were down to 10 against the 1st placed team and held out for a draw.

So it's not as bloody obvious as all that.

Edited to accept that @Stuntman_Mike put it better

If we can keep 11 players on the pitch it might help.

This is the biggest point since we gave Marti the boot, so hard to judge where we actually are without him in charge due to the two brain dead moments from Okoli and BDCR.

It's like they are trying to play in a comitted fashion, but don't know how. They're confidence is shot and they are panicking. Some of them don't want to be here, but are realising that because of their performances no one else will want them.

Never understood stuff like this as if it's the fan themselves responsible for the wankstain players we have. Why anybody would put a single bit of trust into this lot is just beyond me. Stockholm syndrome almost.

Poor discipline does indicate where we're at though. Yes, these things can happen to in form teams but it clearly points to our mental fragility. As does Ricardo's mistake.

Which is fair comment, as you're taking the regressing form into consideration.  What you've not done is just pick out losses and say "We lost these games ergo we'll lose all these other games".  Which was the other argument put forward.

The problem is under Marti because he was a clueless out of his depth fraud, we were getting worse every single time I watched us, there wasn’t one game I thought that’s an improvement. The last few games despite the errors the application of the players has been slightly better, I’d be interested to see the running stats and we are being slightly more direct. This is like turning around the Titanic, Lacselles could be crucial. We need a few other seniors to step up, I’d make Lacselles captain, Ricardo sin a captain and don’t performing, personally I’d drop him.

To reply to all those querying my post our current PPG is 1.2 (1.23)

We will stay up by carrying that on until the end of the season.

To say we have no chance of staying up and we are already down when all we have to do is match our piss poor form from the rest of the season is pathetic and cringey doom mongering. Of course we're not down already, we are not Wolves, we are not Sheff Weds we are not cut adrift, we are not even in the bottom 3, we don't even need to improve on the form we've shown up until now over the course of a season.

Agreed with that and I don't think Kingy is the man here but a short term appointment for someone like a Rowett should see us fairly comfortably safe

Actually just any semi competent manager should see us over the line. It was the right call to get rid of Marti but I remain confident he'd have kept us up with just the 6 Pts deduction

You could say the exact same for Blackburn, West Brom, Oxford, and some above them, watch their games and they look absolutely doomed.

We are probably the worst team in terms of results Vs player quality but we have the players who can win a match with a moment of magic and that's why we'll be fine.

I think there's a marked free fall we are experiencing, that has worsened with the loss of James and having absolutely no plan for replacing Cifuentes. This tough run of fixtures will see us firmly ensconced in the bottom 3 soon and we will not escape it.

If we manage to not beat Sheffield Wednesday, or not keep a clean sheet, my word.

You would not put it past us though.
