What really drives it home for me is that I bet Richard Kone and Lyndon Dykes are thinking “thank **** I chose mid table QPR and Charlton over Leicester City”. That’s where we’re at. Phil

Or the realisation of what next season holds when bang average players like Dykes and Kone choose to go to smaller clubs like QPR and Charlton.

Surely the evidence is that after 31 games we amassed 38 points prior to the deduction so, as shit as we are, evidence points to us maintaining "a shade over 1 ppg" which keeps us up.  You can't take the individual shit results as evidence and neglect the positive ones.  That's not evidence.

We've got 1 point from our last 5 games though? The form table is VERY much worse than our season-long average, which includes spawny early wins over the likes of Sheff Weds and Charlton.

I'm one of the few optimists that thinks our January business is going to lead to an upturn in form, but even I'm not naive enough to believe that we're not capable of cutting it VERY fine to either stay up or go down. We've been in relegation form since November.

The KP brigade will give Top, Rudkin and the players a standing ovation when they avoid relegation by 1 point. They will see it as a successful season!

I don’t think any one will see this season as a successful one

Its the worst it’s been in my lifetime

If we aren’t going to get Will Still might as go for his brother !

:dunno:

Funny that, I was looking him up the other day as noticed he'd got another job as an assistant. Hey if the current trend of assistants propping up the manger is anything to go by you're onto a winner :P

Not a very good record it seems so hardly an inspiring appointment if true .

Got a link to the main agent we use apparently so all fits in .

Current table, with expected points on the right column (based on PPG so far). Has us finishing 20th, West Brom 21st and Blackburn, Oxford and Wednesday relegated.

But as you can see there's only 3 points in it, so with 15 games to go and our form over the last 10 games (see below) - we're on incredibly thin ice. Just got to hope that Oxford and Blackburn keep struggling and/or we get a mini bounce from the new players/new manager.

Blackburn have got some nasty fixtures between now and May. In their last 10 they play:

Millwall A , Middlesbrough H, Birmingham A,  Stoke A,  Coventry H, Sheffield Utd A & Southampton A.

Portsmouths last 5 are Boro A, Leicester H, Coventry A, Stoke A, & Birmingham H.

I reckon 5 more wins and some draws would be enough but Jesus it’s tough to see where they come from. Our home form needs to massively improve.

Remember when we used to work out how many wins we’d need for Europe?

My issue is, that I can see West Brom and Blackburn sorting themselves out (i think Rowett 'could' work at Blackburn, but not here), and I think Norwich are now ok. This is why it's so important that we get someone in who get the job done this season and that the club drop the whole 'playing the right way' nonsense.

I have a horrible feeling, the "we'll just be fine" feeling is still consuming the club.

Blackburn seem properly rotten but we’ve seen how a competent manager can make an impact.

I just don’t see West Brom going down. Not sure why.

West Brom didnt deserve to lose against us. They created more and had better chances - Jakub kept us in that game.

My fear is out luck has run out a little.

Be nice if we could keep 11 men on the pitch. Whilst I don’t think Kingy is up to much he’s been massively shafted so far.

James getting injured has been devastating

To be honest so far this season there isnt one game where id honestly say we have fully deserved to win. That is a big problem. Under Marti we were getting worse week on week, we need to stop that rot.

No - the Pozzos use an agent called Mogi Bayat they use and he has involvement with other clubs and this Edward Still has managed one of them.

If he had a decent track record which Will did in France tbf wouldn't mind but has only won about 20 games in his career and been sacked 2/3 times!

I'm assuming you mean, there isn't a game where we've been the better side for 90 mins? Because there's been plenty we've won that we deserved. Take Derby for example, where we battered them and then soaked up the pressure in the second half partly because we were in such a dominant position. Absolutely deserved to win that game, it just wasn't 90 mins of being the better team

Always enjoy these kinds of posts from you.

I'm clinging on to the fact that James and Ramsey should be back playing from March onwards. Hopefully that's enough to see us over the line.

I can still hear “We are staying up” when David Pleat’s Leicester avoided relegation to Division 3 on the last day of the season. Can’t remember the year though.
