Marti is being considered for the Watford job 😄

With all due respect to Marti and obviously understanding what an awful job it is, I can’t imagine anyone would see what he did here and think “I’ll have a bit of that.”

You think Watford's owners have a sane approach to hiring and firing?

look at the images seen on twitter of Cov vs Cambridge from 2018. 6k fans there. as someone said, they were at the end of the process that we are just beginning. we are nowhere near done yet. our rock bottom is a long way off. 8k at home to Carlisle on a Friday night is coming guys.

Blackburn and WBA aren't picking up points. Blackburn have Norwich/QPR while WBA have Stoke/Birmingham.

Mind you, it would give the Sheffield derby something as nothing usually happens in it. Very boring derby.

A 3 points deduction and it's 50-50 whether we go down, depending on how the new signings do and when JJ returns

A 6+ points deduction and it's Mansfield here we come.

I hope I'm wrong

I don't think we need a points deduction to confirm it's 50=50 on whether we go down. We're only 6 points above 22nd. I know there's 4 clubs in between us and WBA (in 22nd) but we've already lost at home to Blackburn/Oxford/Charlton/Sheffield United this season and were lucky to beat WBA. Only drew with Portsmouth too. I have no doubt Norwich will beat us later this month and we've still got to go to Portsmouth and Blackburn.

Football is not predictable at all but looking at our fixtures I struggle to see where our next three points are coming from. Maybe Southampton at home..?

I can’t see any of the teams above us now being dragged in. They have enough points given none of them are under threat of a deduction to be safe.

Of those below, Wednesday are gone and Oxford are likely leaving the final spot. Norwich will easily be ahead of us so it looks like one of;

Us

Charlton

Portsmouth

Blackburn

West Brom

I think Portsmouth and Charlton have enough so it’s whether we can finish above one of Blackburn or West Brom for me…

Agreed. Incredible to think WBA could go down, they've only had two seasons below the top two tiers. Same with us just having one season outside the top two tiers. A decade ago we won the top flight and WBA were midtable, prior to that they had finished top 10 twice. Blackburn played in the third tier a decade ago but before that were last there in the 70's. Three very poorly run clubs now. I just hope we've got enough to stay up.

Have a few friends who are West Brom fans and they seem utterly convinced that they're going down. Apparently got worse under the new manager. I know Portsmouth are ok at home, but this shot map is pretty bleak reading if you're a West Brom fan.

We've never had fans as shit as Coventry while I've been alive. Don't know where the comparison comes just because they've suddenly found day trippers.

Loved that day. Had to sit in DD as they were only seats we could get. Best mate was playing for Oxford that day and, out of nowhere, hooked a ball clear off the line that looked a certain goal for us. Without hesitation I found myself on my feet screaming “you f&ck£ng wan&wr” at him at full volume 🤣Sadly, karma dictates that Baggies send us down on the last day, this time 🥴

I was more referring to their 6k fans. The hardcore support if you will.

we had 20k in league one way back when football was in black and white. Good support. Can’t see it being the same this time as there is no love for the club, just like Cov was. We can all sit here and go “where we’re you when you were shit” but realistically it will be the same for us

It'll be same as it was last time. We won't have anything like 6,000 unless it's a protest

OK I will humour you.

How long do you think we had been protesting before we went down to 6,000? Do you really think the occasional protest at home will work?

A lot of our supporters started their protest early but most ignored them to start with. But once they put us into administration to break the contract with the arena, giving us a points deduction and taking us to Northampton for our home games,  realisation hit home. SISU chose the administrator and started a company under another name and kept us after administration. It was easy for them as there were no football debts. They did it all in the hope of getting the arena for free.

The next time they took us out of our city was when we played our home games in Birmingham. This time they did it to starve London Wasps of money as they got the arena for cheap so SISU couldn't get it. Most supporters didn't follow us there either, but strangely enough we sold out every away game as soon as the tickets went on sale, just like we did all the way through our protests. In the end it made no difference as it was then 2020 and all football stopped.

When we eventually went back to the arena many supporters didn't come back straight away. But when SISU finally gave up after 20 years of obliterating our club we came back and with a new generation of supporters. We were lucky to have Robins as manager who dragged us back from League 2 to the Championship when constantly having his players sold.

So let's get things back on track. How many of your supporters do you think would do a full protest and stay away from home games? Away games are fine unless in a cup. How many years do you think he would continue to put money into your club to keep it going while still keeping everything within FFP?

Protests only work when the majority of supporters get behind them. You’re nowhere near this as most have stopped going because of the poor football. Most will be straight back as soon as you get a decent manager and start winning games again.

Your support isn't comparable to ours. You've just got 30,000 from nowhere because you're suddenly doing well. Ours drops to 20k at it's worst but if won't go below that.

One hell of a protest you've had going on for 20 years by the way. You can always show me one stat where you come close to our support in my lifetime.

And get off our forum. It's proper weird.

How about right at this moment? We had to limit our season tickets to 26,000 and have also reduced the away allocation to give us more tickets. Our STH's put their tickets on a platform to be resold when they can't make a game and they sell straight away. Our ground is too small for us. Not bad for a side that hasn't been in the Prem for 25 years.

It was only 10 years ago you won the Prem. You also won the FA cup. Brilliant times for your supporters. You were in the Prem just last season yet your supporters are disappearing already. Losing 1/3 of your support in less than a year and you think it's not going any lower? Yet you question the supporters of other clubs.

You had better hope you stay up this season. Teams like Wycombe, Mansfield and Exeter won't bring many and even more supporters will give up. How about an exciting away game at Bromley? You turn up expecting 3 points bit get outplayed.

Your ground too small for you? **** sake ,don't forget  how many left when you went 2nil down to Ipswich. Your having so far maybe your best season  is  your history ,so why wouldn't  it be full ?If you do go up once the newness wears off and your getting  pumped every week you'll  have enough room to spare ,especially  when your 2/3 nil down like against  Ipswich.

Your support has always been crap in my lifetime ( 66 years), until now. Your lower league success has brought you a new generation that has been locked out of our support home and away due to old supporters like me staying foolishly loyal, next season maybe in div 1 should refresh the ranks, we need it.

It is pretty amusing seeing Coventry fans giving it the big one about their so called amazing support and atmosphere, just because for once in their lifetime they are almost selling out and have decided to adopt a random anthem from a band from the local area. Absolutely noone would point to Coventry as being a hotbed for any such things. Their support has been poor for most of their history.

At filbert street on the other hand and for several years at the current stadium (although not recently) we were often appraised.

Its also funny seeing the hate from Coventry fans on any video leicester related. Its like they're trying to gain relevance from a "rivalry" with us, one for which I personally couldnt care less about.

Never even used to sell out here.

Shocking support for 45 + out of the 50 years I've been following football.

Just hope they're back to their usual position of being total irrelevancies
