It's that time again.

Doing 7 acts for £7 again for the third yea run a row, it's such good value. Also seeing Horatio Gould next week upstairs at the Black Horse in Aylestone.

Heard him on this week's Mike & Vittorio podcast. Seems very funny.

I’ve been a Fin Taylor fan for a while now, so know of him. Prefer him to Vittorio who is a bit hackneyed imo.

Went to the Gala Preview night a month or so ago, Katherine Ryan last night, an event in Foxton on the 14th then the Comedian of the Year award and Clinton Baptiste in Loughborough. So much to see!

Fin vs the Internet and the new Fin vs History shows are both excellent, seems like Horatio is basically his understudy at this point and seems to be working for him, was looking at the Black Horse show myself. Saw Fin Taylor at the Y Theatre last year and he was superb.

Only got the one booked in so far so definitely need to look at getting a couple more in!

Ha, me too. Saw him at Firebug in 2021 or 22 and he’s much more polished now.

Fin vs the internet is brilliant - the most recent new atheist one is sooo good.

A bit mainstream but going to see Milton Jones in the Cathedral tonight. Seen him before and he was excellent, looking forward to it.

Funny is funny.

Got tickets for Stewart Lee on Thursday, bought them so long ago we're on the second row, needed to get my act together after being told off by my wife for not getting any last time.

Also going to see Tom Lawrinson at the Guildhall the following week. Big fan of his daft online sketches with Sam O'Leary, no idea what his solo stand up is like but he's been doing it for about 9 months so should be working pretty well by now

Went to just the tonic 7 acts for £7 last night, always really good.

Sean Walsh at the black horse on Monday and Andrew Neil History of Punk Rock should be decent.

Went Sophie Duker at Y on Saturday - I could feel myself become more Tory as the show went on lol Notably though she did comment at the end about people supporting the event - I hope that doesn't suggest rumbles of it finishing

The OH is off to see a show at Firebug while I am at the game on Saturday

Who's seeing the Comedy?

Know its not at the festival BUT saw Fatty Owls in London on Saturday & it was great, really funny.

The bloke playing Basil Fawlty is brilliant.

They intersperse the Germans, Communication Problems & the Hotel Inspector, TRUE comedy gold, recommended.

This is a funny as it gets:

Guest: "When I pay for a view, I expect something more interesting than that."
Basil: "But that is Torquay, madam."
Guest: "Well it's not good enough."
Basil: "Well may I ask what you expected to see out of a Torquay hotel bedroom window? Sydney Opera House perhaps? The Hanging Gardens of Babylon? Herds of wildebeest sweeping majestically across the plain..."
Guest: "Don't be silly. I expect to be able to see the sea."
Basil: "You can see the sea! It's over there between the land and the sky!"
Guest: "I'd need a telescope to see that."
Basil: "Well might I suggest you move to a hotel closer to the sea. Or preferably in it."

Went to see Stewart Lee at De Montfort Hall this evening.

Maybe four rather than five stars from me on this occasion but still very, very good and a bit different from his previous shows and it's always good to see things freshened up a bit isn't it?
