Carricks loves his team to play possession based football which is the same as Martin.

Ah same thing then

I don’t want Dyche but I’d have him over Ruud.

And I think that you may get your wish. My gut feeling, at the moment, is an agreement is in place with Dyche and the announcement will happen in the next financial year. Radio silence until then.

I agree. As we know the club rarely see things with the same lens that most of us do. There's been numerous occasions where we might have been expecting a particular action, or statement and it hasn't happened.

I think that's where we are now. They're happy with him, and believe he can do a re-build job in the Championship. He's under contract. Notwithstanding what Matty Fryatt's banging on about being mystified, in the club's eyes, there's simply no reason to be communicating anything. A message of support that he's staying undermines him. I suspect there's no replacement manager discussion happening at Ipswich, and I think our board are trying to create that same image of stability.

I'm not saying I support this position, but am surprised by Fryatt and others who think it's not if but when. I genuinely believe it would have happened by now. If I was Ruud, I think I'd be dropping the odd hint to the fans though, along the lines of looking forward to the fixtures, and seeing who our first opponents are etc.

If they're happy with him, they would have spoken to him.

I genuinely believe the reports in the press are correct and Ruud has been left hanging in the hope he walks.

Except the strategy hasn't worked and the club's going to have about 30 days in July to recruit a manager and players before the season Starts 8th August.

The whole situation is an embarrassing farce, our incompetent board have really excelled this time.

All they need now to reach a new low is an EFL transfer embargo, and having to keep and unmotivated Ruud  because they can't afford to replace him. 😞

I haven't seen any other of the other managerless clubs being linked with Dyche. Perhaps they know of his already agreed destination 🤔

Get where you’re coming from mate but you said the two of them were exactly the same, which they aren’t.

Don’t care if it’s about saving money for PSR, we should not be waiting until 1st July or after to appoint a new manager.

We should if the alternative to waiting until 1st July is recruiting an inferior candidate just because they’re available for free.

You will if we get deducted more points!

The club get a lot of stick. But if it’s all financial and we have to wait until July, makes more sense  than some of the crazy decisions we have made.

According to Tanner, the players are back in for pre season testing on the 30th.

Leaving it until July would be absolutely fvcking nuts, and will just indicate how broken this club really is.

Or it would indicate that the club is finally being serious about breaking free from our exhausting cycle of PSR issues.

That’s fine though, the manager won’t do those bits. Sport science will.

Needs to be sorted asap but most important before proper pre season starts.

We panicked and rush to appoint cooper last year, hopefully they have learnt a lesson.

Or they are just being completely incompetent.

Was more referring to missing out on candidates due to leaving it late.

Just to put it into some context and I’m not saying we should but Leeds appointed Farke on the 4th July a couple of years ago.
They got over 90 points and any other season would have gone up automatically.

Imo I think we’re still at least a week away from appointing someone.
I just wish we’d hurry up and get rid of Ruud.

But do you realise how ridiculous that sounds though lol

Having to wait because we’ve fvcked up our accounts so badly, incompetence of the highest order.

Just looking back at the last time we were in the Championship, we appointed Enzo on the 16th June, Southampton appointed Martin on the 21st, Leeds appointed Farke on July 4th.

It took Leeds about 10 Championship games to properly find their groove.

Having the players back in for pre season work, with no real idea who the manager is, is crap preparation.

They have not learnt that they are incompetent.
