What is the point of Seagrave if those youth players don't play for the first team?

Well hopefully they will, who has said they won’t? Big ask to play in the prem at such a young age. Can’t be  be worse than what we have, but we don’t want their confidence or injuries to be affected by their lack of maturity. Quite excited for the next few years, if these youngsters are as good as people say.Seagrave will have paid for itself if they are. The facilities are not the reason this wet wipe first team squad are so pathetic, can’t be coaching them to make brain fart decisions in defence every game Do they👀

And that's the fault oh Seagrave?

Nothing wrong with the training ground. It's people's attitudes. Which falls right back at Top and the way the clubs run.

I don’t think RVN is the man for us. But he may be of the opinion a relegation battle is not the place to blood youngsters and I get that.

We need a manager that has a proven record working with youngsters next season. Whoever the manager is will more than likely have to use kids or stick with what's left after the sales.

I don’t see us having money to spend so no choice.

My Kettle's useless it makes a shitty cup of tea.

I remember people saying the same about St George's Park when England were barely getting out of World Cup and European Championship groups. The problem was the same for the FA as it is for us: the staff. Give a Ferrari to a shit driver and they'll crash it.

Since the FA have addressed the root of problem of creating quality young players, you're starting to see a conveyor belt of them being wanted all over Europe. At that stage, SGP became an asset rather than a liability. There's little reason why Seagrave couldn't be similar for us.

Lazy argument to blame Seagrave per se

I happen to agree.

With the right leadership and vision, it could be a cheat code. Just look at the talent that Chelsea and Manchester City pump out. I believe that's what the club wanted to emulate, but they simply haven't the staff to do it.

First time you've agreed with me on here since 2007. We're turning a new leaf.

Completely agree.

Yes I can understand the immediate shift when going from somewhere rough and ready to somewhere where everything is catered for. I could see why players might 'struggle' for a 6 months or so while they adapt but we moved into Seagrave nearly 5 years ago.

There is no excuse. The facility is perfect for football.

I wouldn't describe Belvoir Drive as rough and ready. Probably as good, even better than some, in the top tiers.

Did you blame Seagrave when we were in Europe? Winning the league last year? Or is it just convenient when we're losing. It's a baseless argument. Loads of clubs have big training grounds, their players still put the effort in.

Having been to both Spagrave seems a little soulless.. as quality as it maybe

Unearthing talent for the likes of Chelsea and ManC (and Liverpool) for minimal compensation.

It all depends when they come good. We certainly lose the precocious talents like Nyoni for example, but that's true of everyone. The ones who don't get ahead until their early twenties will likely stay here. KDH cost us nothing and sold for £35m. If we manage to go up with a good few academy products and/or sell them for decent fees, Seagrave has paid for itself.

KDH learnt his trade mostly at Belvoir Drive, didn't he?

He did, but the point is that Seagrave raises the club's capacity to create more academy products in top drawer facilities.

We will likely have players like Alves, Monga, Nelson, Braybrooke and Golding (admittedly not an academy product, but still only 18) looking to break into the squad next season. It'll only take a couple of these to come good.

How many have come good since moving to Seagrave? Seems that youngsters had just as good a chance of making it at Belvoir Drive including all those listed.

I think we need to give it a bit more time and, crucially, better staffing. I reiterate my earlier point that fans up and down the country said the same about St George's Park in its first few years, and England is now producing quality players all over the shop.
