I would liken our ownership to that of Blackburn Rovers, prepared to spend and invest to a degree but little or no football knowledge or experience within the boardroom and therefore as a consequence make many poor decisions, managerial appointments and when they do get one right they inevitably leave due to frustrations. They are also pretty aloof and rarely engage with the fanbase.

I can't get behind 'King Power Out'. They continue to invest in the club - £80m odd spent last summer, after years on years of spending more than we recouped, writing off debts and investing in local charities.

 

Yes almost all of that recent spend has been wasted, but it's the people making the decisions on who to buy we should criticise, not the guy signing the cheques.

 

There is definitely accountability needed for Top and his family, he has shown far too much loyalty and faith in poor appointments. I think we should be focusing our efforts on getting those executives changed, not calling for new owners.

That bits just not true. The owners have for many years spent far less than we think in terms of net spend. Of the current PL 20, were 19th for net spend over the last 5 years. Over the last 10 years, we're 16th of the current PL 20. That's despite having a full stadium for all of those 10 years, with the 12th biggest stadium. If anything  then, it shows how badly they've done at giving out high salary contracts - which is fundamentally a Vichai/Top and Rudkin problem. This season it's 40m net spend after last years -50m and massive wage savings.

 

As for investing in the club, what have they done other than clearing debt they themselves accrued, which will be in their long term interest anyway... LCFC took out loans for the pointless training facility. The stadium hasn't been expanded despite years in the top half of the PL, assets on and off the pitch have regressed significantly, they developed the club shop to sell more tat, built a statue for themselves and a garden for themselves, retained Belvoir Drive for 5 years so we had TWO training grounds... I fail to see how they invest in LCFC above and beyond almost all the other PL clubs and only initially invested as a get rich quick scheme.

Find me any football club in the Premier League where the directors or owner are local to the club. It simply doesn't happen these days. We're all run by foreign investors and the DoF role is given to the first candidate through the door who can tell the difference between Ronaldo and Ronald McDonald.

I mean if you turn down requests for a Banks statue because there's nowhere safe enough to place it and then after the chairman dies you discover health and safety isn't actually that arsed about statue placement, it's definitely worth a negative comment. Can't fault the garden topiary though.
