The championship is shit, you only have to look at how Sheffield U are doing.

Luton did better in PL last year than we did and are heading to League One, you don't know which way it'll go. Burnley and Sheff U could be coming back up again though.

Ipswich are probably better placed at the moment to go back up. Us and Southampton need to lick our wounds for a season which we needed to last year after relegation. Neither were ready for promotion, although it saved the EFL throwing the book at us.

Problem is if we don't go back up next season it'll be transfer embargoes and points deductions.

It would take a lot for the club to regain my past enthusiasm. With even a decent season in the Championship I can’t get too excited about us beating the likes of QPR and Stoke (which might not happen anyway) when we really should never have been in such a mess to suffer two relegations. I also can’t be arsed cheering and showing my appreciation for players who may shine playing the lower standards of opposition in the Championship but could barely turn up in the Premier League. Being in the top division isn’t the be all and end all and I could take relegation if we had made decent off field decisions and shown some fight and ability on the pitch. It’s more how we have come to be a second tier team that really pisses me off.

Whatever happened to questions ending in question marks? Gone the way of apostrophes, I guess.😬

In answer to the question, it won’t stop until Top gets the message from the whole fan base (or the vast majority) that his shift is well and truly over.

We almost need a Ceausescu on the balcony moment for him to realise that we want him and his cronies gone. Not sure how that revolutionary turning of the tide can be recreated though.

My own - and only - way to protest is to stop filling my season ticket seat. Which I (and my son next to me) have done for the last two matches and will be doing for the foreseeable…

We won't get relegated to League One. The lower half of the Championship is horrific.

Puel should not be named alongside Taylor either. While Puel's style was boring, he never had us in a relegation battle in fact steered us away from that. I'd have him here now.

Despite the football, Puel pulled in more than a few decent signings which set the tone for a couple of good years under Rodger’s.

I've been a fan since 1967 and I don't think I have known a time where morale amongst fans has been this low.

All I can say is that we ARE a yo-yo club and we will always be. The good times have been wonderful and we have experienced highs and lows that many wealthier clubs have not.

We may be a lot of things but we are anything but boring. Imagine mid table mediocrity year after year and never winning anything!

Good times will come again!

It's the lack of fight and pride to wear the badge from the players

That pisses me off the most

I can accept the team being crap I can't the attitude

I think it ends with a lot of us doing other things and leaving the happy clappers in peace to applaud being a midtable championship club.

I do worry it will go this way unless there is an Enzo type that comes in to lift it again.

Top needs to either sell and a whole new board come in or he grows some balls and gets rid of Whelan and Rudkin and brings in the following:

New chief exec

New DOF

Technical director

Justice for Puel. The only manager we’ve had post Pearson that’s had a recruitment strategy even if the football was dire.

What’s he doing this days? We could do a lot worse than have him as a DOF/Recruitment but I highly doubt he would touch us with a barge pole

I see this a lot, but there is zero evidence that Puel was responsible for recruitment. He was very much a Head Coach. Eduardo Macia was our Head of Recruitment then.

The only transfer with evidence of Puel's input was Diabate...who was honking.

It didn't have to be this way and your past should define your future.

We pull in the 13th biggest highest attendances in the country. Within the 10 biggest cities within the country. A catchment size which runs into Northants and Lincs. One of only 14 clubs to win every major domestic trophy.

Yeah on this basis, is there any reason we shouldn't be a perpetual top flight mid table side like Everton?

its clear that a lot of the older fans here feel the same that they have never felt like this before even going to league one didn't feel this bad and that was the dawning of a new era. The thing that gets me the most is how we achieved success but we completely blow it on bad decision after bad decision we didn't stop it happening it just goes on and on and on. Even now i cant see an end to it even it we came straight back it wont solve ours problems.  The only answer i can think of is that anything associated with the current club has to go bar the fans haha. id be happy watching load of youngest playing with pride for the club. We needed ambitious scouts you will find young talent from the lower leagues players that will jump at the chance to play for Leicester not wore out journeymen looking for the last pay out before retirement

It ends with the champions league final in Doha in 5 years time. Then another few years down cycle including a defeat to Coalville in the FA cup 4th round qualifier and all the ticket office shambles crowd proclaiming they've been non league fans since day 1. Then back up and winning the expanded 256 hybrid club/country world cup in Yemen in 2042.

I´ve already booked my return trip to Mars in 2043, on Elon Musk´s SpaceX football special, for the inter-galactic (northern area) play-off 2nd leg

Lost 6 of our last 12 in the Championship last season. We got worked out, just too late for it to stop us going up. I doubt we get as lucky next time.

It's a bad league but as ever our eye will be off the ball partly due to the delusion bred by winning a league we had an enormous advantage over last time. They'll cut corners and blow it next time. We've underachieved virtually every year under Aiyawatt.

I don't think it quite comes to double relegation but decline is all we know. I tend to make pessimistic predictions about us that turn out to actually be optimistic when measured against what plays out. So if I feel we'll be about midtable, maybe it can actually be significantly worse.

We're relying on luck to get us out of this. Just like we did with Maresca. No skill involved in that whatsoever.

Sadly, we'll never be a PL club again, certainly not in my lifetime.

That's where I think this will stop.

Another Blackburn Rovers.

Oh come on. I think we might well struggle next season but if we somehow fluke a good managerial appointment we have a very good chance of going up again.

Oh come on, really? Fluke? Who have we "fluked" in the past?

Plus with this squad or a variation of it when we can't afford to buy PL standard and barely Championship standard players. Please don't tell me we go back to academy players.

Not chance in hell of either.

Yeah you're probably right to be honest. You've convinced me.
