Not playing down our performance as I thought we were the best team for parts of the game, but I expected more from Brighton. They were awful for a team that’s pushing Europe. And proceeded to get booed off lol

Mavididi was running at them directly which was refreshing to see, even if his final choice was often the wrong one.

Nothing changes for me though. I still want this manager out.

Brighton for me some up how shit the premier league currently is. Really is on its arse, if that is a team in a fight for Europe.

Simple answer is we played more players that can create opportunities. Before today our formation meant only ELK was a creator. Today we played 2 extra creative players in Mavididi and K-Mac. So we had 3 players on the pitch who could create opportunities, If we’d’ve gone with Monga at RW rather than K-Mac then it might’ve been even better.

I didn’t watch the game but Hürzeler is clearly a typical progressive manager. Uncompromising to the point the worst team in the league can score once, let alone twice for the first in months.

They’ve conceded 4 to this team!

Brighton didnt score the five goals before half time they should, but to be fair we took advantage of their failing and grew in confidence. I think today proves that we had a decent defence that would give the rest of the team confidence.

RVN is done...

How many of us want Kingy?

It would surely make sense to give him some "free goes"

We are down. That's a certainty

Not sure it's fair to give him a run of games where we're already down and therefore a baptism of fire.

Only the most nase of fans would lay the blame at HIS door.

Here is a guy who has never managed. May do a good job, but surely needs some experience.

Agree with alot of what's been said.

Played the right formation and players, before RVN went three at the back we were playing this formation but with Ayew and BDCR on the wings and Vardy up top, which is why it didn't work, the formation and system is built for pace, it's actually quite insane that Ruud couldn't see it and his answer was to just play a back 8 and go on the run we did. Which is why he still has to go.

I also think some of the pressure is lifted now that everyone's accepted relegation, just go out there and play.

It wasn't perfect, first half was a bit Cooper, clinging on. We definitely defended with a bit more effort without Faes, who shouldn't play for the club again imo, for Okolis limitations as a player he was trying which is all we can ask, even the podcaster was without being next to someone half arsing it.

Id bring skipp in for soumare rest of the season aswell, as like it or not he's going to be a big part of the midfield next season so we need to transition away from some of the wasters who definitely can't be arsed any more.

Ruud still has to go, and I'm sure he's still desperate to aswell, I'm just glad we managed to show a bit of grit and fight which can give us a bit of optimism for next season regardless of all the major things that really need changing.

Looked like both wingers offered energy, will to take people on, a goal threat, determination and a bit of pace. Why oh why did we waste  game after game fielding Ayew and DeCordova-Reid jogging around pointing and creating the square route of FA. As a template for next season, todays pair plus Fatawu is back to what wide men should be.

Leaving out a bomb scare with an attitude problem who actually brings to the opposition team an XG of at least one on his own, Faes and not going back to that giraffe who has the turning circle of a wardrobe Vestergaard. Not that Coady is peak Baresi but an improvement.

With all the obvious doom and gloom, it’s a nice reminder that we do actually have a nice little core of talented young players with whom to build upon next season.

I’m talking El Khanouss, Soumare, Okoli and a few other.

We finally played with a bit of pace.

Just a shame it took RVN till April to realise that’s what you need in the Premier League.

Not starting Mavididi more regularly, and not getting in a replacement for Fatawu has hurt us massively.

Let’s not pretend that Mavididi hasn’t been liquid dogshit all season

Completely missed the game and just trying to work out what exactly changed today?

Line up?

Formation?

New players coming in actually trying?

Not much. They had a cm playing at cb and had over 4 xg.

He has been extremely inconsistent at this level which I expected tbh.

But in terms of our wingers, he is the one with pace and directness, you need to be starting players like that in the Premier League.

It’s no wonder we rank bottom for counter attacks and fast break shots, when RVN has persisted with our slower attackers, idiotic management.

Mavididi has barely started and mainly been used off the bench when a game that we’ve set up to block has gone. Even an off form Mavididi offers way more attacking threat and an ability to stretch the opposition than Bobby Reid or Ayew.
