Should Southampton have changed the way they play a bit at some point this season? Yes. 

 

But lumping it in to the box like it's 1950 isn't the answer is it. People stopped doing that decades ago because it's easy to defend.

But we do have JJ, Faes and Coady defending so it is a valid tactic.

Real madrid famously won 3 CLs in a row by crossing the ball. It doesnt look good but it works, you cant deny that.

Despite the fact that Arsenal haven't got anyone on 10 yet. Nor Everton , Man Utd or West Ham....  And Ipswich have Delap on 15 and going down.

Never in all of recorded history have Real Madrid played the type of football that he's spent the whole half advocating.

We agree that he's a moron but it's undeniable that they should mix it up. They're potentially the worst team in PL history. They couple of times they have actually chipped it in behind (not just booted it up there), they've created a chance/half chance. Then think about the ridiculous goals they have given away this season from trying to play it out from the back. It's beyond embarrassing.

 

It's exactly the same with us this season. Obviously just punting it long will not work but you only have to look at the template of the clubs that have avoided the drop and most of them try to pass the ball but aren't afraid to go direct when needed.
