Very surprised at some of the comments on here. Yes it's been awful this season, and the board can do one, but if we can't put that to one side, for one game, for a player that's given us everything, and stayed loyal when many of his teammates tried to better themselves by moving on, then it's very poor. We wouldn't have won the league without him. WON THE LEAGUE. I'll be cheering him on, (not the board) "cringefest" or not.

I agree, but there's no denying the club have seen this as a perfect opportunity to divert away from the deserved toxic atmosphere they'd have otherwise received this weekend.

They already get away with so much because of so many happy clappers. Still annoys me they got some claps last time we got relegated.

Could turn out to be an iconic picture if he’s subbed by Evans, A passing of the torch moment. No pressure lad, no pressure

It’ll be Patson though won’t it  He couldn’t receive a ball let alone a torch.

Wouldnt surprise me if they brought out an actual goat to walk round after the game....

I'm not bothering to be honest. I havent been since Brentford either and said then i wouldnt bother again this season.

If it does two laps of the pitch without tripping up or pooing it will have better OPTA stats than Faes, Soumare, Skipp, Justin and Daka! Gerritin!!!

Vardy scores his 200th, gets subbed off and Evans scores his first :fc:. Too perfect of a fantasy to come true sadly.

Anyone dismissing Vardy’s capabilities and saying ‘the time is right’ is a f ing moron

8 goals in the PL with a frigging turtle and a slug supplying him, yet not good enough for the Championship next season?

Pull the other one

Fold the club after Sunday.

You would think it depends on finance/PSR of course, but if we are willing to let him go "on holiday" for the Bournemouth game potentially forsaking a £3m increase depending on league position...

Cheer up mate... We'll still have Daka.

Is it actually possible to cry twice at the same time for two completely different reasons?

Absolute sadness and utter despair? :(

Sunday evening Leicester City Football Club changes forever as the soul of the club leaves us and we  become a flagging horse.

Sir Jamie Vardy of Leicester City. I salute you with pride.

It’s a paradox. I think Vardy is clearly our best finisher, but insisting on starting him every game, as the sole striker, for the last few seasons has also been holding us back as a team. I think both things can be true.

I don't think anyone had an issue in utilising him like Maresca did- 18 goals, best goals per minutes ratio in the Championship. No reason he couldn't replicate that again next year.

Good point. My comment about him being our best striker but also holding us back as a team in a sole striker position at his age was more in relation to Premier League football.

No, but both parties have to buy in to doing so. From the club, it’s easy to imagine that the club has screwed it financially and would rather cut costs, and also from Vardy’s point of view, why would he want to do it again? He owes us nothing at this point.

Don't get me started on the insistence on playing 1 striker, and modern football tactics in general. I'll ruin my weekend before it's even started.

Very true. What a mess.

Why are you presuming that he wants to?

Everyone deserves a new challenge, a new chapter. Vardy owes us nothing. He might have 1 season left in him and he has every right to play there somewhere else and not grinding through another season in the Championship.

Yes that Southampton goal alone proves he’s still got it and his touch off for Facundo’s goal at Forest confirms he’s more than good enough to go on. The sheer mess this club has got itself into means that he has to leave.

I don't disagree- but there are people saying he's got nothing left to offer on the back of him looking knackered being flogged for 90 mins every week in the PL.

The club existed long before and will exist long after Jamie Vardy has moved on, however not sure the club will ever be the same again, he is the heartbeat and soul of the club, if ever a player represented a club, a city and a fanbase better than Vardy then I have yet to see it.

I am fearful and sad and still cannot begin to fathom a Leicester City squad going into a season without our talisman.

Got my JV9 t shirt for tomorrow. Probably one of the sadest days I will experience in 45 years of watching Leicester. Salute the GOAT. Thank you, Jamie

Will be for Skipp or Soumare knowing Ruud
