Popular Post OntarioFox Posted 20 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 20 May 2025 (edited) We've been walking a tightrope for years now - the way we wormed out of it at the start of this season, as funny as it was for identifying how badly written the "rules" were, was also incredibly pathetic and slimy. We were guilty as sin, let's be real - we got off on a technicality. I'm with @StanSP - we need to finally have some punishment dished out, because it's the only way the cartel in our boardroom might actually own up to their chronic failures that have led our club to this situation. Goes all the way back to the 2016-17 season in truth, but I could rattle off an essay's worth of reasons we're financially stuffed. Slimani. Musa. Adrien Silva's 14 seconds. Danny Ward. Ryan Bennett. Vestergaard. Bertrand. Daka. Faes. Souttar. Tete. Letting Rodgers cling on until it was far too late. Top six wages for a squad relegated to the championship. A half-finished rebuild under Enzo. Ripping up the blueprint for a squad conditioned to play possession football going all the way back to Puel. Cooper. BDCR. Ayew. Skipp for £20 million. RVN. A second relegation through cowardice and a piss-poor squad. There are of course two things that affected us more than most - the helicopter disaster, and COVID. The former was one of our darkest days, but more than anything thrust Top into a position of power where he has proceeded to show zero backbone and entrust the club's operation to slimeballs who couldn't run a bath. The latter affected King Power in an outsize way as far as our external investment goes, but let's be real - all it did was expose what a house of cards our club's financial structure actually is. We were banking on a "big sale" every year to offset our insane wage structure, and eventually we entrusted finding those gems to the aforementioned morons. Tielemans going on a free was the light breeze which brought the whole thing tumbling down, in hindsight, and we couldn't recoup it with Maddison's sale as we were relegated through our own idiocy and had our pants down in the market. Said it multiple times. I hate this club at this moment in time, and have done for some time in truth. Now Vardy is gone, there is nobody to hide behind. The squad is a hollow mess, we're staring down the barrel of the league authorities finally catching up with us, and we have no direction or leaders to arrest what's looking like certain decline. Well done Top, well done Jon, well done Susan, well done Martyn, you're all culpable and should all pack your bags. Edited 20 May 2025 by OntarioFox I missed Skipp, good lord there's too much to even remember 5 1
K789 Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 Wtf didn't we just sell the womens team? Manes no sense. Would settle everything
reginald Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 If we just accept it, could they just punish us for this season? If we challenge it then it drags on they could deduct points next season so better to say ‘ok, we were wrong, no challenge from us. now punish us with a 15 point deduction for this season’.

CosbehFox Posted 20 May 2025 Posted 20 May 2025 It’s clear what will happen - points deduction from our total this season. Everyone is (relatively) happy

Everyone is (relatively) happy Could see this happening. One of the benefits of the joined up approach and expedited rulings is that punishments get dished out at the same time. Surely any punishments for 23/24 should have happened by now, and certainly within this season? Would be odd for us to get the punishment a year later, though sure the leagues would push for that given it would have minimal impact on us this season.

Popular Post studentofthegame Posted 20 May 2025 Popular Post Posted 20 May 2025 Regardless of what happens this HAS to be the turning point, clear whatever dead wood we can, promote youth, and for **** sake stop spending inflated money and wages on old useless shite like Coady, Ayew, Decordova Reid etc etc. We should have used the Championship season as a reset year last time but didn't and then came back up, extended Vestergaard, spaffed money up the wall on Skipp, signed Ayew and Decordova Reid. Obviously I know the club won't do that though because they are quite frankly inept at all things related to running a football club efficiently and effectively. In the past their was always a vision, Pearson initially, then post title win the Puel into Rogers period was a perfect example of long term planning. Then under Rogers it transitioned to looking 12 months ahead and no further and has never seemed to change. The reason we are constantly in this mess is because every signing, every contract, every sale, is done with the focus on the immediate results of it and never on the longer term implications. 10
