Wonder how this will hamstring us for next season, especially if Ruud walks which I think he will do after this news. &nbsp

if we have an impending points deduction awaiting us for next season, will make it challenging to attract a new manager of note, last season we ended up with Cooper due to the risk of a points deduction, if we have similar this summer the pool of managers may be smaller than we hoped.

if this does happen means even more that we have to have a project type manager, as we have to start again.

Also surely Rudkin and Whelan cannot survive this yet again…….

You are forgetting the main culprit Top!

Was you at the game? “Rudkin out” was the loudest it has ever been all season at that game, Fans also took the opportunity to make it known when Vardy was asked to say something and although it’s been turned down it’s still audible on the live stream video on YouTube

I was, was loud from pockets in the Kop and L1, but should have been an absolute bloodbath of toxicness. Club cynically used Vardys last game to try their best to deflect the attention away from them. They probably were aware this ruling was coming as well but had it buried away until today.

I assume this is invoking the new rule change they bought in since we exposed the loop hole? PL and EFL can impose eachothers sanctions essentially.

If I haven't got that wrong then they didn't waste anytime, they are desperate to get us. In honesty its quite tiresome to keep up with it all.

Whilst the intent of PSR I agree with, its design is broken and anti competitive. That said the rules are the rules, people in the club, who we can be sure we know are responsible, have to take responsibility and take their mis management on the chin. The annoying thing is we all know we will draw this out with court battles and loop holes and no one in the club will be held to account and we won't change our ways.

I mean the money we are reportedly paying winks and coady should be enough to say we most likely breached, why in earth we gave contracts out like that....

Legally, you can't retrospectively apply the rule. They've clarified this for future cases but doesn't apply to historical ones.

And we all come back crashing down to earth with a bump after Sunday lol

This club is a joke.

The board cannot survive this, surely.

We won’t accept and we’ll be able to make them look stupid, again. This will keep rattling on until we’re back in line financially. It’s why Vards has left and we’re due a fire sale in the summer.

If this means Rudkin out, Top a silent investor to a new board, and resuming our model of academy players plus buy low sell high, so be it.

Going to be a rocky ride.

Why would Ruud walk?

The question now is, will our next legal challenge/appeal be based on challenging the notion that the EFL and PL can enact these new rules retrospectively for a period covering when the rules were different?

Or will we just accept it?

Seems we have accepted the decision/charges from our statement.

He won't. On the contrary, I think this news significantly increases the chances of him being our manager next season.

Crashing down from Sunday? As good as it was to see Vardy bag his 200th, I’m still absolutely gutted he’s gone.

Yeah I see that. More meant seeing him get that 200th goal and the send off he got.

Completely deserved.

As restrictive as PSR is, there is no agenda or conspiracy in us being charged.

The club knew the rules and were either negligent in adhering to them, or thought they were somehow above them.

Hopefully we can escape with a 15 point deduction this season so we end on less than Derby's record. No less than they all deserve.

It really could **** us up for next season though, and I expect that to be the case.

This. Absolutely god damn this.

Don't do what the club wants you to do - distract you with legal loopholes and whataboutery.

Yes, this rule is far from perfect but we've known about it, we've voted on the bloody thing and still we don't seem to give a shit. Absolutely negligent.

I could understand if they went "we're fully sending it" to spend loads, survive well and take a deduction like Notts Forest and Everton have done, but they've not. They're trying to loophole their way out of flagrantly ignoring the rules and then claiming innocence.

Adding the club's statement here so it's in one thread.

https://www.lcfc.com/pages/en/media-article/lcfc-statement-20-may-2025

LCFC Statement: 20 May, 2025

Leicester City FC notes the Tribunal decision which has been published today.

The Club is pleased that it successfully defended the Premier League’s challenge to the Appeal Board decision in relation to the PSR assessment period ending FY23, which was the main focus of these proceedings.

The Premier League’s own rules provide a deliberately high threshold for any challenge to the decision of an Appeal Board. In this case, the Appeal Board’s decision was only capable of being overturned if it could be shown to have resulted from a “perverse interpretation of the law” or was a decision “which could not reasonably have been reached”.

The Appeal Board decision was reached by a highly experienced panel (including two former Court of Appeal judges) and, although the tribunal may have disagreed with the decision, it dismissed the Premier League’s challenge, finding (consistent with the arguments made by the Club all along) that the Appeal Board decision “could not sensibly be seen as resulting from a perverse interpretation of the law”.

The tribunal also concluded that the Premier League was successful in establishing jurisdiction on one of the two grounds argued by the Premier League with respect to the assessment period ending FY24, and the Premier League has now referred this to an independent Commission. Consistent with its previous commitments, the Club intends to engage cooperatively in this matter now that the Premier League’s jurisdiction has been established for the period ending FY24. However, we will not be able to comment further on these proceedings until they are concluded, due to their confidential nature.

Why does Whelan, who is head of commercial, get away with zero flak from the fans?
