A5 derby finished 3-1 to the Boro, very decent crowd of 802 with around 43 from Hinckley not bad at all for Step 5 on a midweek evening during an England night.

How have you found the step up this season in terms of ability?

When Coalville have faced Step 5 teams in the Vase it's not felt like there's a massive gulf in quality between the two divisions. We've got Winslow on Saturday, another step 5 team top of their league. Unbeaten under the new management so hoping we can continue that and get through to the next round.

Weirdly enough I'd say the first six or seven games, in the terms of the quality of teams comparing step 5 to step 6 seemed very similar. The teams were facing early on didn't look particular great, the last three or four games seem to have been more challenging and really needed to dig deep to get results, though sadly I don't think much of Hinckley last night, the goalkeeper for them kept them in the game whilst our borrowed keeper last night had little to do other than pick out of the net late on. Aylestone Park seem the threat this season and some expected this.

Got Stafford Town away on Saturday in the Fa Vase, I think there like the same level as us so that expected to be a tough test. The game is all ticket, due to fact Stafford's Town's ground can only hold 600 apparently, I heard we sold over 150 tickets last night.

Boro just about get into the next round of the FA vase after beating Stafford Town on pens after a 3-3 draw, first half was dull losing 0-1 nothing special from the Boro, then second half wow what an entertaining contest end to end one minute we were leading 2-1 and then not too longer later we were losing 2-3. Minutes from going out then Jardine blasts in a late equaliser to send it to pens. 315 in attendance... expected a little more i think i worked out just over 200 from Nuneaton. Certainly made a lot of noise on the train home.

Signed long term contract last month, no doubt there's interest. Don't want to lose him but if we get a decent offer then it will certainly be nice for the funds for Boro.

Boro faced a shock defeat in midweek to Easington Sports, lost 0-3 our biggest defeat since we formed. Apparently in complete control first half loads of chances but wouldn't go in and got punished big time in the second half. The manager in the interview you could tell was livid with the players and gave honest opinion. Conceded a lot of goals this season despite scoring a few. Daventry away tomorrow, hope midweek was just a blip.

Love stories like this, it's what non-league is designed for.

Last week at Brackley v Gateshead we were treated to seeing Frank Nouble play for the visitors

Notts County next week in the FA Cup, huge fixture.  Should be sell out and live on BBC2 too.

Real tough league the NL is, Brackley playing very well but just don't have the firepower up front to give it a good go

Decent appointment by Kettering in Liam MacDonald but I just wonder if he will get the owner springing random name signings on him all of the time or lads from Ballers League.

Really weird time at Step 3 cos everyone has had Cup games and Trophy games all over the place. Spalding have gone above Harborough and the top five looks very strong with Quorn still surprising everyone being up there.

Bishops Stortford 3 - 4 Quorn

I wasn’t there but my god this Quorn side is something else.

Behind three times in the game only to come back level each time then eventually go onto win the game with another Quorn speciality late goal.

Double home header v Kettering & Harborough respectively to follow. The good times are flowing at the Stotto.

You can beat Kettering, hopefully not Harborough ! :P

Decent point away at Spalding this evening. 1-1.

Boro got through in the Fa Vase today beating Sandiacre Town 2-1 in front of 523. Not a vintage game, atmosphere felt awkward as most fans said it's weird watching a non league game on a Sunday. Into the next round, noticed the only Leicestershire side left is Heather St Johns.
