I saw the video of him saying the black pilot comment (it was crass and referenced DEI but a v poor way of making that point and basically racist) - wasn’t it from many years ago?

I could have my timeline wrong perhaps but he's made multiple quotes like that. There's one in trying to think of I'll have to search for it but directly relevant to treatment of the last few days.

I'm unclear why people that don't know him and don't agree with him have to be nice about somebody after their death?

I mean, I personally aren't going to revel in it or really get into his views particularly, despite not agreeing with them. I wouldn't have wished what's happened on the guy.

But since when did everybody have to be nice about everybody else? What happened to free speech on this?

Charlie Kirk himself after a helicopter and plane collidedearlier this year said "if I see a black pilot, I'm going to be like 'boy, I hope he's qualified'". He didn't seem to believe in not talking about the recently deceased.

Great display of wokeness from the right in the last week. Something something hurty words.

To add - I would ask how many of us have heard a female pilot come on the tannoy and made a crass joke about parking the plane …….

I was never a Charlie Kirk fan and disagreed with him on many things. I also disagreed with how he got points across but the black pilot comment, when considered WITH it's context is a fair point.

He's not saying that black pilots are less skilled. He's not saying that they can't be AS qualified as white pilots. He was basically referencing companies hiring less skilled black pilots over more skilled and qualified white ones, purely to make diversity quotas and when you do this, it 100% WILL lower the skill level and lead to questions like this.

If you are getting a haircut and your told the best and worst barber in town both work there but you don't know which is which, are you really going to tell me that you won't be sitting in that chair praying to god that you got the former?!

He has said some wild things, I don't believe that this is one of them.

For those questioning the attendance at yesterday's event there is a simple solution.

To get accurate figures, simply circle central London with turnstiles & make the event all ticket, entry via scanning a QR code via your phone. To finance this, charge exorbitant entry prices, big it up on social media & for added security employ stewards on minimum wage  to thoroughly search people carrying bags.

Further attendees could also be attracted to the event by putting on food kiosks selling low quality food at sky high prices.

Seems to work at other such high attended events.

Accept of course no pilots of any race or background had ever been employed purely to meet diversity targets.  All have to pass the same rigorous tests as anyone else.

Female pilots are fine as planes don’t reverse park.

They do. But there IS a difference between someone JUST passing it and being newly qualified and somebody who aced the tests and has 10 year experience on the job. Which would you rather taking you to Benidorm?... Just because they both passed the tests doesn't mean their skill levels are equal.

The RAF did admit to bias against white men candidates to meet diversity targets. This is not to say the tests were different but that candidates were turned down to meet diversity targets.

Unlawfully and paid compensation but yes it happened

A female Group Captain felt the need to resign due to the pressure she was under to meet targets. How many potential top pilots missed out? Men that wanted to help defend the country

If we're listing Charlie Kirk's views in order of how objectionable they were I'm not sure exactly where I'd put this one on said list, but it definitely wasn't the worst imo

Seriously? I thought we'd moved on from this kind of misogynistic rubbish

No. Recent events show that we apparently haven't.

In any case, WRT the topic above systematic discrimination has been the name of the game since time immemorial yet some folks seem bound and determined to voice objections when such systems perhaps take one step too far in addressing that problem, with apparently zero consideration of the original issue.

And another reminder - while I'm pretty sure that a very great many people attending that march yesterday don't want that kind of discrimination to return/an ethnostate to happen, the movement that they're attaching themselves to will make sure that they get both, regardless of what they want.

I think (at least I’m pretty sure) he was beiing ‘deliberately’ amusing deb by bringing up a stereotype.

Was 26 with with the police stating that there would be more to follow

Notting  hill is more

But it covers the whole BH weekend and attendance is more than a million over that period

Did you ask the same question about George Floyd?

Yes. Although like my question above it was rhetorical, I am well aware that Brits have been psychically colonised by America.

Yeah you certainly can’t compare the two unless you have an agenda
