I'm left wing and I absolutely support free speech. And I also do happen to think there should have been more open and honest debate around immigration, the economy, and a host of other things. But I don't believe for a second that the people involved in this really have free speech at the forefront of their minds. Tommy Robinson front and centre tells you everything you need to know.

Sounds like it went very peacefully barring a few idiots trying to get past a Police cordon.

 

But also it doesn't look like there was anywhere near as many people as Stephen Yaxley-Lennon thought there would be. Most estimates were at around the 100k mark, a long way short of the 3 million "Tommy" claimed there was.

I’ve always been a leftie (didn’t vote Labour last election and won’t ever again) 

but I can’t be the only one that just doesn’t really get worked up about these marches.

 

That’s probably coming a place of privilege that I can say that but I just sort of shrug my shoulders at it.

What worries/annoys me is the coverage it gets compared to other peaceful marches about important world issues...

I don’t get too involved in politics but this flag shit is crazy. Driving back from Kendal this morning and on the M6 there was a bridge with an England flag with Israel written on it along side we are Charlie Kirk. There was a man walking along the bridge holding a pole with an England flag on it. Does he have nothing better to do than to walk along a motorway bridge on a glorious Saturday morning holding a flag.

Leave it out Stan, over 110k people marched and only 9 arrests, I swear people, media & politicians are disappointed that London’s not burning today.

 

The scene was set by said people with the headlines Tommy Robinson’s Far Right March will take x route & Stand up to Racism will take y route, yes there will be a minority of idiots within that 110k but the vast majority are families fed up with the way the countries being run, nothing to do with racism….but the scenes been set.

What personal experiences do people here have with illegal immigrants? Genuine question as i keep hearing it's the biggest issue this country is facing, yet I'm not sure I've ever seen one.
