What's causing this do you think?

The change of ownerships in various shops hasn’t helped matters imo, you’ve had shops that have been on Narborough Road for 20-30-40 years move on in recent years, which then get replaced by fast food places and food supermarkets.

Narborough Road has always been known for it’s diversity, but you’ve certainly had an increase of various nationalities over the last 10 years or so.

Crime incidents, it’s difficult to pinpoint the rise for that, drug use has certainly picked up too recently. I went on Narborough Road a few weeks ago near the new Morrisons(Old Co-Op) and there was a woman completely off her head on something. Further down, as I touched on earlier, it’s even worse.

Imagine fleeing warzones and then being expected to dress in a superdry coat and bootcut jeans? Bloody hell

Did you mean asylum seekers? I think the ones fleeing war-torn Albania are quite into superdry TBF, and Adidas tracksuits.

coming to a city near you soon. Or even better, a missile. Just hope it’s not nuclear tipped ey.

Do you live in Ukraine or are you suggesting Russia is going to start launching nukes at the UK?

Looks like we’re actually getting a ceasefire in the ME.

Putting my neck on the line, this will be a disaster and won't last longer than a week.

I drove down Narborough Road yesterday and I think if you take the time looking at the shops, restaurants and clientele you'll see it's a mix of pretty much every culture going. However one thing I will say is the place is an absolute state, pretty much from the bridge just past KFC, all the way to the large Tesco. There's litter everywhere, shops and houses just dump bin bags and cardboard boxes out on the street. There was a butchers down as you get closer to Braunstone Gate and one of the butchers was sat on a chair outside, smoking, all whilst still in his butchers 'whites' - the whole place is disgusting.

You look at some of the buildings and houses on that road, particularly up near the Iceland and the side streets there, and they're lovely big houses. You can see that at one point in time it was probably a grand area to live in that had a bit of prestige about it but nowadays its just lots of overcrowded HMO's full of people who don't care what their area looks like and are happy dumping a fridge, mattress or sofa out on the street.

Surely then, the question has to be "why". What has caused the "rot" to set in?

Someone more knowledgeable than me might offer an answer.

This is what I see too. One time it felt very muti-cultural and interesting. Now it feels quite intimidating.

Brings to mind a 999 call I went to once, just off Narborough Road, and the 2 room flat we were called to had 9 foreign men living in it.

Reminder to play the ball not the man. These guys are here because it’s a better life for them, although any Pole or Lithuanian who thinks modern Britain is better than their country is insane. Hell even the whole western part of Ukraine is better than here these days. The system is the issue, cheap labour, lack of labour of British workers, declining living standards etc.

Very, very Hindu Indian, with a bit of Sikh, Turkish, middle-eastern too. This is going back to the 80s when I spent a lot of time round there. Felt multi-cultural in a nice way, though there were still idiots who would try to stir stuff up.

It certainly wasn't "high class", but it was homely and comfortable, at least to those of us who weren't intimidated just because people were different.

Honestly, I'd attribute the decline to students initially, in the 90s, crammed into bedsits, which were then replaced by cheap European labour. Neither of these groups, students and immigrants (then) had any investment in their neighborhood. Get a degree; go home - earn a wedge; go home.

In general, when you cram people into small areas with no reason to connect, trouble will unfurl.

Maybe, but behaving legally and legitimately. As opposed to now where where none dare publicly speak the word for fear of condemnation, but we all know what is going on.

Just names.

USA and. isr do not recognise that committee anyways... And it's advisory. But it's probably the most hostile collection you could get against the main antagonists in Gaza right now bar the South Africans.

It’s a UN body.  elected by UN members.  It’s not created just for Gaza. It’s ongoing for the world.  Just shows the UN  for what they are and as a western democracy I think we place too much trust in them and some of their reports/votes.

of course western democracies are also responsible for human rights abuses but we have systems in place to call them out and hold people accountable. (If they’re used)
