For someone who says he has never met him or been involved with him he seems to go to some crazy lengths to not have to speak about it or release as little as possible after campaigning on it.

Yep exactly.

Just like the Royals paying millions to a woman who Andy never met.

People at the top always get away with it and some lower mugs will take the blame..

Killing or kidnapping bad people then having absolutely no plan as to what happens next is classic Trump. Again I predict that nothing will actually change.

*Classic USA.

He was obviously involved heavily else he’d have released them by now. Everyone knows it but he jut has to kick the ball down the road until everyone gets bored/tired of asking for them to be fully released.

Confirmed by Iran media now

Khamenei was killed in the early hours of Saturday

Iran’s Fars news agency has more details on the supreme leader’s killing.

It says Khamenei was killed at his office while “performing his assigned duties” in the early hours of Saturday morning.

Ordering ink for the printer?

Supervision for one of his generals?

Browsing FT.

Typing up the minutes of the last office meeting?

Yeah, this is right. Hopefully enough people don't buy into that brand of delaying bollocks and eventually he can't delay any more, though.

Hope she's safe and remains so mate

Thank you mate, she looks to be safe at the moment, thought she would be. Apparently the Emiratis are handling it all very well, she's just sheltering in place and ready to evacuate if needed.

Which would be early hours US time

Yeah, but it was the Iranian media reporting it as early hours. Moot point, probably lost in translation.

The former UK defence Secretary calling for a US decapitation strike on Putin is one of the more insane things I’ve heard.

If that is a verbatim quote, then yes, any advocacy of a decapitation strike on the leader of a nuclear armed nation with second strike capability is absolutely insane.

What, exactly, does he think will happen after that?

And this is a person formerly appointed to oversee the UK military policy.

It was funny because the presenter didn’t push back and just accepted it like it was a completely normal thing to say.

I read that tweet more as subtle sarcasm / irony, calling out the hypocrisy of Trump when it comes to anything Russia.....

Ah, thank you for the context showing the man is just being (correctly) snarky at Felon#47 rather than nuts.

The great thing about aldi is it keeps the cheapskate scumbags out of sainsburys

Ha ironically that joke normally uses Sainsbury's as the butt of the joke.

'Sainsburys..... keeps the scum out of Waitrose'

Kinda doesn't work so well with Aldi

Trump has never claimed that.

They were friends for some time.

To add to the above point:

No one outside the most idiotic apologists would agree with the actions of the current Iranian regime, and outside those same apologists the argument isn't being made that it should stay. The point is that outside intervention to remove it in the way that is happening now has been shown very clearly in the past to cause more problems than it solves, and is hardly done with the welfare of anyone other than the intervener in mind anyway.

Thinking it's two highly objectionable governments with similar supremacist ideology up against each other and so thinking they're both doing the wrong thing is hardly a controversial position to hold.

Are some people actually ok with Islamic regimes like Khamenei oppressing people against their will?

Who has said they're OK with what the regime has done?

Wise words, yeh, lock yerself in your shed with some cans of cheap shite soup to last 3 years until the all clear sounds.

Will that be to signal that Top has sold the club?
