Ah, the old “sign a player that scored against you” transfer policy. Makes some sense, he was very good that day.

Staff Posted 30 July 2025 Posted 30 July 2025 I can't see him making 25 goal contributions across 2 seasons in the championship, let alone 1. I would rather a creative player like Monga in the 10 and either put BEK deeper or sell

A drop in class and all that, obviously not a guarantee he'd increase his output to that magnitude but he's very creative. I'd expect 10-15 assists. 5

If BEK stays the season he will look fantastic at this level. My worry is that BEK won't have a Vardy that KDH had so his assists might not be as high. The 3 behind a striker of Mavididi/Monga, BEK and Fatawu is right up there with the best trio in those positions that this league has seen in years. Should be more than enough to put us into the playoffs. 10

Should be more than enough to put us into the playoffs. I think it could be. We just need to see that teamwork and understanding flourish. There is a good chemistry from playing together already but being played together going forward will only reinforce that. I expect to see more swaps and changes early season but hopefully Marti lands quite quickly on a formula that gets the most of our squad and the vision he wants. I’ve seen some positive signs from this bunch but I’d like to see the same progress on the defensive side too across the whole team and to be honest I’m more worried about that.

The only player El Khannouss won't have to provide that KDH benefitted from is Vardy. How many assists out of KDHs 10+ that season were to Vardy? There will have been a few. He takes set pieces too, KDH was not overly brilliant at corners or free kicks but Faes, Vestergaard and Justin did manage a handful of goals from set pieces that season.
Stadt Posted 30 July 2025 Posted 30 July 2025 (edited) BEK averages 0.25 xA per 90 in his career, he could pretty easily add 0.10 adjusting for the drop in quality for the championship. Plus players usually outperform their xA so I could see him with 20+ quite easily, especially if he's on set pieces. He's at 0.10 xG per game, KDH was at similar or even worse in his league campaigns but he cruelly had the ability to score more as evidenced by his Blackpool loan and his limited minutes in European campaigns. If he stays he'll score more than he has obviously - but I don't think he has the timing of KDH but he's probably a better ball striker. I'd guess something like 10-12 goals and 18-20 assists. Leif Davies set up 18 in 23-24. Edited 30 July 2025 by Stadt

Somebody else will take that place Sounds like we feel obliged to offer silly money that we can't afford. In the mean time, that player (s) don't give a shit, and why should they on 70, 80, 90 100k Move on!
FrankieADZ Posted 31 July 2025 Posted 31 July 2025 (edited) hes still going on about the release clause, even tho numerous others have said other wise Edited 31 July 2025 by FrankieADZ
FrankieADZ Posted 31 July 2025 Posted 31 July 2025 pretty sure loads of other journos have said BEK doesnt have a release clause
Ric Flair Posted 31 July 2025 Posted 31 July 2025 Tavolieri is usually very reliable in his information on Belgian players or previously based players from Belgium. It would be unusual for us to agree release clauses as standard but a relegation release clause might be more likely and could have been the sticking point when we negotiated with his reps last summer. That would only represent a modest profit.

LestaLad Posted 31 July 2025 Posted 31 July 2025 Sounds to me like Leeds are being used to push other teams to come in for him. No mention of personal terms is odd. 2
