Bidding wars don't really exist in football. Each interested club will have their own set valuation of what they think the player is worth and they'll simply move on to their next target if that is exceeded.

You obviously weren't here in the Nicky Maynard days when we were bidding against ourselves

Probably the height of Foxestalk hysteria

Look at that, a club keeping fans informed and updated without giving much away....

When Kingpower are criticised for their lack of communication with fans, the same people always defend them with "what do you want them to say?" THIS. This is the sort of thing we want them to say.

Great for a club with an endless pot of money, not such a great negotiating chip for a club with a lack of funds.

If you are telling the selling club, you’re in the market for 5 more players it doesn’t exactly allow for much manoeuvrability with negotiation

Could we finally be about to get in on the Saudi money?

It's okay for a Saudi tin pot club to announce they are throwing monopoly money around ..

But no serious professional football club would announce what they need within a team to their fans

Ridiclous

Insert the Ronaldo "I would love this...and think I deserve this" meme!

That would be a great move for Ndidi, terrible move for BEK.

Not really, look at Jhon Duran. Plays half a season with Ronaldo, gets a big payday, moves back to Europe. A season out of his career at this stage isn't a big loss.

Just off the top of my head, I remember Arteta last season claiming they needed a new striker. I also remember Ten Hag stating they wanted to sign a striker, a CM and a CB a couple of years ago. Arsenal and Man Utd aren't "serious professional football clubs?"

I was, however, referring more to the assurance that something IS happening in the background and the club ARE actively trying to improve. What have KP given us to ease our fears after 2 relegations, 2 PSR battles and 2 terrible seasons in 3 years with no-one being held in any way responsible? Nothing, not a thing. I would settle for a "don't worry guys, we got this" with a thumbs up emoji at this point.

They don't need to outline in great detail their vision for our future,  just acknowledge that they have one because I'm not convinced that they do.

Probably a better move than the one to join us

"Hello everyone,

You might have heard we're short of money, however, though this is very true, we are trying our best to move Rudkin on. Unfortunately, we have found out he wrote his own contract, the legalities of which are being difficult to resolve as our Thai law firm are currently short of staff following a brutal massacre in Bangkok.

Besides which, have you seen the cost of horses these days? Polo mallets aren't cheap either, not to mention Ralph Lauren shirts.

Sorry, I digress. Rest assured that soon the club we all love will be back to it's usual self - bobbing up and down between the top two divisions whilst occasionally flirting with the third.

In the meantime, thoughts and prayers, thoughts and prayers. You might even want to try a mantra, offering up incense or perhaps sacrificing a small child to Ba'al. Frankly, we need all the help we can get!

Looking forward to the incoming season,

Your benevolent chairman,

Aiyawatt."

Problem is, words are hollow. This was proven 2 seasons ago with the infamous internal review.

The club can put out whatever statement they like, because there won't be many fans taking it with anything more than a pinch of salt until they start following their words with actions.

It’s getting closer and closer to the start of the season if someone wants to buy him we need it to be done soon so we have a chance to re invest some of the money on the squad .

I 100% agree. Words aren't enough. They need to back them up and they haven't done in the past that but the fact that they aren't even pretending to care anymore definitely feels worse.

50 million gets you Bilal. 45 million gets you Bilal and Faes.

Saw a Spurs link as well, probably lazy journalism as they couldn't get Morgan Gibbs-White and they play the same position.

Whilst you’re at it lads, we’ve got an excellent centre back, Belgium international, bargain at 25M.
Also, a lightning fast Zambian forward, we’ll call it 30M shall we?

Well the rate between Saudi Riyal and GBP is 5:1 so if its Riyal then yeah I guess the maths checks out.
