This thread certainly shows up the people who are dying to be depressed about absolutely anything without giving a moments rational thought that the pitch will 99% likely be in it's normal pristine condition by the start of August

Agree. I think moaning about anything and everything is distorting the biggest issues which are Top and Rudkin.

There’s so much to criticise there, trying to get angry over everything is getting tiresome, ridiculous and boring, like they want to be outraged all the time.

They do mate I’ve been there and picked rolls up lots and lots of times granted they may not always be stocked with it 24/7

Must be luck of the draw as when I went in they said no but if they had a job coming up they might have a roll or two left.

Which they didn’t at the time.

This might have been mentioned already (haven't read through all the comments), but wasn't there a big junior tournament on it in June, over a couple (or even few) days? It's an annual thing? That always gives the pitch a battering.

Combined with the recent hot weather, I think the ground staff have done a half-decent job to get it as good as it is.

I might be completely wrong, of course, and perhaps it is a sign of the wider malaise of the club, but I do think it's just a combination of kids and hot weather and it'll all be back to normal by the start of the year.

They removed the grass and re seeded it after the kids tournaments and pay to play

It got relaid 5 weeks ago and there’s some sort of disease in the areas that are affected which takes ages to recover and the seeds struggle to grow.

You'd had thought it would have grown like mad ... given all the bullsh#t that's about

Agreed considering it was seeded and not relaid with turf.

Like in so many other areas of the club so many of our ground staff have or are moving on. Standards are slipping in every department.

How's that happened, don't we have some kind of groundskeeper academy at Seagrave?

You would have thought having it has an international spectacle, it would have been in a better state than that. There are a few comments on the BBC site on how poor it was. Does nobody care down there anymore?

The job lot of grass seed from Wilkinson's  bankruptcy  stock not turned up then !

I actually give up i really do. My local team Hednesford Town have just splashed out £250k on a new pitch, state of the art and we are one below the national league ..UP THE PITMEN !

People love a moan on this forum 😂

No we don't! That's bang out of order!

I won't be renewing my season ticket because of that comment.

Joke of a club.

A disease has set in and it's going to take ages to recover?

How appropriate

I’m sure I seen that it already had a disease last season as questions was asked about the pitch, so it’s been relaid and still got the disease?

I was told and take this with a pinch of salt , that a disgruntled member of staff has sabotaged the pitch hence its condition..
