He’ll be gone for a hefty fee. Thankfully his goal catalogue will be enough to get a juicy fee

How and why will it be a hefty fee?

If we get relegated, you’re negotiating with a League 1 side. If we stay up, our financial mess is known by everyone, well take what we can. I have little trust that the ones at the top are capable of negotiating a hefty fee

You'll get a decent fee for him regardless of where we are because hes actually quite good at football

We sold premier league players at a reduced amount the moment we dropped to Championship. If we go to League 1 that’ll be the exact same.

It all comes down to clubs situation and negotiating skills. We’re in a mess desperate for money (likely needing to get him off our books due to wages if relegated), he won’t want to stay here and we’re shit at negotiating with these in charge. £20m tops we’ll get for him - Premier League we’re getting £40-50m

Scores a goal a game? I'll take that thanks

Does he? 8 goals in 32 games isn't a goal game...

Also scoring goals is pointless if you cause us to concede more than that

I don't care about his goal tonight. He should be dropped (and probably for a while) after witnessing how he defended for the first goal tonight. It's unacceptable

Even King called him out for it indirectly during his post match Interview. He was sooo passive and didn't even attempt to try to stop the cross, didn't even raise his foot! Pathetic.

It's instances like this during games which is why we will get relegated. Players showing no effort to defend making us so so easy to score against

Yet there was another moment when none of his teammates were putting proper pressure on and it resulting in him having to make a sliding tackle on the edge of his own box, right in front of the centre backs. Hardly the sign of somebody who shows no effort?

Want to criticise him for being very underwhelming or selfish this season, that',s totally fair. But to suggest that he doesn't try is embarrassing

Lets drop one of our best players and one of the only ones who can actually score for a no mark on the bench. What a fantastic idea. When we go down, he will be the first one being pinched by another club

Yeah, lets drop the lad who's 5th in the entire Championship for assists and our 2nd highest top scorer (1 goal away from being our joint top scorer).

He's literately the only player in the team who can both score and get assists (in a team with strikers who rarely score).

And the only other player who can score regularly is injured - and we're in a relegation battle.

I’m actually quite surprised he’s still here tbf. He’s head and shoulders above most players in this league so he will be gone, whether we stay up or not.

And the cause of so many counter attacks.

He holds the ball, great, does his 3 or 4 pirouettes, not so great, but then JJ and whoever playing the 10 break-forward expecting him to play a ball they can run onto but instead he turns inwards and then either plays it back or is robbed of the ball which then means Skipp is the sole defence of the entire midfield as JJ & 10 have overshot Ayew totally playing them out the game.
Most of time you’d have JJ, 10, Mavi, Fats and Thomas all ahead or in line with Ayew expecting a forward ball in that scenario meaning a quick counter we end up at least 5 v 4 then quickly 5 v 3

So in summary I never want him to start again & if that means it’s Antonio then so be it.

I know we're all angry but blaming poor @Chelmofox s dog is a tad unfair

Well our season has been going well so far with him starting every match...

There's clearly a mentality and effort issue when we are defending. One or two players not putting in effort breaks the whole defensive system. You can't defend like that when you are in a relegation scrap, deserves to be dropped unless he can put in the levels of effort he did under Maresca (maybe him getting dropped will encourage that...).

Yeah you’re right. One of the best players in the league in Fatawu is the reason why we are crap. What we really need is Silko Thomas starting instead.

He might be lazy in tracking back but hes the only one who is a match winner in the team. Far bigger issues then him like how we have the most immobile full backs in the league who the opposition exploit every game

Considering the hype around him and the big fee chat, he has been utter dogshit in this run of form. The attitude has fell off a cliff too, love the guy but clearly he doesn't do well when it's not going to plan.

For me he's the type of player who will prolong his injury instead of being on the pitch fighting for survival

Anyone looking a him will take on board his inconsistency in games

Where on earth have you got that from? He's not even injured at the moment, and we know how much he hated not playing while he was out injured long term. Give your head a wobble.

Also, apparently it's his birthday today. Happy birthday to the lad.

Not sure about my head wobble ... he certainly makes me shake it ....

He’s an erratic player but is capable of the truly spectacular.

For me he’s in that same sort of bracket as a Ben Arfa, Quaresma, Coman etc, as can be a game winner, or just go missing with no end product. I’m not sure he has the “football IQ” to be a truly top player, however he shouldn’t be playing the the Championship.

He can be truly frustrating as he does try and do everything himself at times.

He’s a quick push and run winger and we should simplify his game by putting him on the left, his pace will get him past most defenders in this league and who knows we may see a cross or two from the left, god knows we haven’t had many.

See if Mav’s game improves off the right making a yard and whipping a ball in off his correct side too.
