Regarding the EFL “having it in for us” on the points deduction, I keep hearing this from fans right across football suggesting we are going to get smacked with a 12-20 point deduction. I just can’t see it.

Firstly, us making the EFL look stupid is irrelevant because they don’t set the deduction,

Secondly, I would argue that there is strong evidence that as a club we have been actively trying to comply since about 2021 when we started to curb spending and even lied to managers about budgets, if we were truly ignoring the rules we would have continued spending but we reigned it in.

The only argument I can see against us is that we signed players like Winks and Coady, the only defence Leicester would have in this situation imo would be that we expected players sales to go through that collapsed late on leading to us breaching, but if those sales did go through we would have complied. Whether that washes is another story.

But even if the EFL did decide the amount of points deduction, there is no precedent for a 15+ point deduction, especially given we’ve got evidence we were selling players, letting players leave on a free instead of renewing and actively trying to sell players like Soumare before inevitably having to loan them out.

If the EFL gave us a 15 point deduction, my guess is it would be laughed out of a court room on appeal as being blatantly a revenge punishment and not on merit.

My best guess is 9 points, with an appeal that brings it down to 6, if I’m right I think we are in a position to try to challenge top 2.

A points deduction during a season is such a shady practice.

Are we perhaps the Man City of the championship in that we can just drag it all on indefinitely anyway?

Is it not a fair argument that we didn’t have a jimmy what rules would apply for us, and neither did they?!

Disappointed they didn't have him walking down the Saff.

Talks about the importance of the Academy and playing for the badge.  He's very good at his PR and sells it well.

Hopefully we see that reflected in academy players being given real opportunity this season.

Certainly talks a very good game. Guess he’s got 46 games to now try and transfer his philosophies onto the pitch. If nothing else he’s got me excited for the season!

Great stuff it's a shame it's down to him alone to connect with the fans.

I know it’s a small thing, but it irks me in that video that “King Power” is mentioned before “the club” when talking about the importance of the community.

A points deduction only hurts the fans ... a better idea would be personal fines or preferably imprisonment for the hierarchy of the club who oversaw the financial fu#k up .... consideration also given to deportation

It is good practice and hopefully similar to Pearson his character will be strong enough to be a players manager also able to relate to the fans  and not suck up to the likes of Rudkin and the PR machine  .... if he can pull it off he will be well supported by the fans

It’s a maximum of 12 points for clubs going into administration; so there’s really no grounds for any point deduction above that level for PSR issues.

Starting point for PSR point deduction’s is 6 points I believe.

Also note;

• Everton received a 10 point deduction, reduced to 6 on appeal for an initial breach.

• They also received a separate 2 point deduction for a further breach the following year.

• Forest received a 4 point deduction for their breach.

These are the important factors and precedents that will go into deciding any potential points deduction.

Would you watch if it were Rudkin?  lol

Maybe but it doesn't need to be a video printed or spoken words would do.

He either naturally gets it or the penny has dropped with the club and has suggested some easy wins with the fanbase. I think it's the former which is absolutely brilliant. I am fully on board, especially if he does have the bravery to use the academy players this season.

I think it's a bit of both, it's also a reason the QPR fans loved him

Amount of our own fanbase slagging of the city in the replies is embarrassing

I get that it’s not in the best state atm but lets have some sort of civic pride

You wouldn’t get Forest or Leeds fans doing it etc
