Personally I'm not overly bothered if we don't sell or buy this transfer window.  I think we have got a good enough squad as it is to make up the 25 players and compete for the top 6 and it gives us the opportunity to include 2 or 3 of the academy players in the squad. Maybe this year without any comings and going we can start to recover our financial position and put us in a better position to invest in the future should/when we really need new players.  Without getting too far ahead of myself, if we did get  promoted at the end of this season with only the current squad it would almost be like a free kick and as we would have done it with minimum investment leaving, hopefully, adequate funds for the PL. Even if we didn't get promoted this season we would have seen a year of the academy graduates and a  year of Daka etc. and we would have the knowledge and again hopefully the financial ability to strengthen where needed with the aim of promotion the following season.

What strikes me as odd is that we have supposedly breached PSR for the 3 years up to the end of 23/24 but having spent fairly significantly in 24/25 and had well documented financial issues in January that prevented further spending, we didn't sell anyone in June.

Have we complied with PSR for 24/25 and can we comply for 25/26 with such a bloated squad? It will be even more painful if we continue to make a pigs ear of selling players and get charged with further breaches to PSR. The horizon of 9 players contracts ending next summer, many of which will be our highest paid players might be scant consolation if we're getting hit by multiple points deductions or transfer embargoes.

If we go up this season then we can pretty much go back to the drawing board and I'll feel some sense of optimism. We'll lose so many poor, overpaid players. Just need to pray that something drastic happens off the pitch between now and then. The chances of all the above happening are slim!

We know we need to sell before we buy, I'd assume, as rubbish as it is, most of our activity if any will happen towards the end of the window.

If we go up, these poor overpaid players who contracts run out will just be given a new one as an reward

I don't see a massive change in the squad until next season when the likes of Coady, Ayew, Soumare, Daka, JJ and Ricardo, Thomas and Wink are out of contract.

90m ish million in transfers fees spent on that lot and they will all walk away for free.

I think it would take it to well over £300m spent on players that have then been allowed to leave for free in the last 10 seasons

When has Jonny boy ever been able to sell fringe players or players out of favour?

We basically held Iversen prisoner despite multiple offers only to let him go on a free. Same with Praet.

Nothing we do makes any sense

We're ****ed if Marti wants to keep this twonk and I place a big negative against him as he's not using his eyes.

Coady seems to fool every one - He absolutely ****ing useless based on his performances for us not on the reputation he appears to have garnered

Personally I feel we're not spending any money this summer to aid in our defense of our PSR situation.

Basically taking the "we've spent literally nothing what more could you expect us to do" defence.

Probably true tbf and isnt a bad defence im not sure what else de marco could have up his sleeve… then when the independent panel gives us the verdict we might get a free transfer or loan in but still no money spent on fees.

Am I missing something because the article itself seems to bear no resemblance to the headline?

All I can see is a quote from Cifuentes saying all players in the friendlies are being considered for first team places.  Then also mentions (without provding a source) we won't sell Coady without having an experienced replacement ready even though we've got an old, slow defender ready to step up in Vesty.

None of it rings true to me. Wouldn't be surprised if he goes nowhere because he's on big wages mind.

Bloated squad - exactly !
Year after year the same stale squad

What does Rudkin actually do ?????

Because he isn’t buying and he isn’t selling or even actively trying to move anyone on, so what does he do ?

Yes, the trend unsurprisingly continues with Rudkin/man child at the wheel. It will be desperate loan time soon and another manager with their back up after a slow window.

Indeed !! Rinse repeat rinse repeat
Then the fans turn on him and another Leicester manager gets the blame, in the meantime Dumb & Dumber are nowhere to be seen, sounds very familiar just ask Cooper or Ruud !

If we go up this season, those "poor, overpaid players" will be deemed to have played well and thus will be awarded new contracts. (See JV last summer)

You can only sponsor yourself at a fair market value so they can’t artificially pump cash in

True but we had a £30 million a year sponsorship last season so they could comfortably claim £20 million was market value if they wanted to

They’re on skid row, I can’t imagine they will sign off on £20m sponsorship for us.

True although £20 million is a drop in the ocean for a company of there size wouldn't make a difference to there troubles or not.

However I was just talking theoretically that £20 million sponsorship should be easily gettable for a club with our size and reach and it's another failure that we are yet to secure one when we clearly need the money to act

It is simply unbelievable that a relegated club facing PSR issues, needing to raise funds for transfer incomings, with 30 plus contracted senior players, has yet to sell a single player in this summer's transfer window. The club's inability to move on surplus players is an utter indictment of all those in charge.

I feel your pain my friend, but someone needs to want to buy the players for a start (most of the ones we want shut of are dross,)

Also with some on ridiculous wages due to our incompetent DOF's involvement,  the chances of other teams picking them up is hindered because players don't want to move for less wages, and are happy to run contracts down.

We all know the route cause of most of our problems, but until the Nepo Baby grows a pair and gives Teflon Jon his marching orders things won't get any better.

It’s one of those, defending them for one thing (difficult to shift the players) is damning towards them anyway!

There will be clubs who would want all those we want rid of. They just can’t afford/are too sensible to take them!

Yes true someone does have to want to buy the players however there are opportunities that he dosen't take e.g. Iverson had a offer last Jan and he didn't sell him then let him go for free in the summer.

I'm sure there are many other examples as well

I think people are thinking that because Cooper and RVN played the same dross week in, week out, Marti is going to do it as well. But I don't think he will.

The analysis videos and what we've seen in pre season show that he likes fast attacking play with quick pressing and we have several players in the squad that don't fit this style and cannot play this way.

I believe (and hope) that Marti will already know the players that aren't going to fit into his system and won't play them. Give the likes of Vestergaard and Soumare a few months of not getting in the squad and see what happens. They won't want to be spending their time just training so will want a move.

We might not see much movement now but January could well be the month where we see a lot of movement when players realise they have no future here.

There won't be a lot of movement in January. It will be next to nothing again.
