I was all for this but I am a little concerned how much weaker our squad feels without him.

he’s currently the best available option for right and left back

No he isn’t.

Sell.

Unfortunately James is a busted flush who was never the same after his ACL. He can't move either up and down the pitch, traverse or turn like he could before.

£5m I'd tear their arm off at the shoulder.

My first thoughts were no, but contractual situation, we need to start acting like a competant business so accept the offer if 9m is anywhere near close to the truth.

We can't let a player walk free in 9 months who we can get 7m- 9m for.

We have to start making sensible decisions, we lost Tielemans, Soyuncu, Perez, Praet, Iversen all leave for free.

We can't sustain those investments walking for nothing!

Don’t disagree but we need a replacement in. Promotion is worth more than a small fee at the end of the day

If it's £9m, that's too good to turn down.

That said, if this is just chucking more money into the black hole of debt without any intention to strengthen the squad, then losing a player who can play both sides could be costly. He's very replaceable, if they actually intend to replace him.

It's not a small fee in our current predicament.

Potential predicament. We don’t know what we’re looking at right now.

if we are balancing I’d personally prefer to keep him and replace with a proper fullback next year not a stop gap like max lowe.

we will bring in about 4m and then spend half on someone like him and just be a worse team for 2m… just think we need to be careful what we wish for.

If it means we can keep someone like bilal, that’s a different conversation

Why replace him? We have far too many fullbacks as it is.

At the end of the day we need a complete restructuring of our wages. Almost every senior player we have should be on half the wages they are on and they can all point to each other to justify their wages. They wouldnt get the money theyre on here anywhere else though.

If we can clear the decks we can get a full reset on our wage structure where the first team on average are on £30k a week rather than £60k a week.

Simply because I don’t think we go up with Thomas and hamza. And it’s very unlikely Ricardo stays fit.

priority should be getting woyo and kristiansen out

No one will buy Woyo or Kristiansen though.

Justin was one of our weaker players last time we were down anyway. I have high hopes for Aluko, big fan of the way he likes to drive with the ball.
