Lambert09 Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 I was all for this but I am a little concerned how much weaker our squad feels without him. he’s currently the best available option for right and left back 2

CrazyKopCorner Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 Unfortunately James is a busted flush who was never the same after his ACL. He can't move either up and down the pitch, traverse or turn like he could before. £5m I'd tear their arm off at the shoulder. 4
Popular Post Phenom Posted 15 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 15 August 2025 Hes on the last year of his deal and is not very good anymore. He has to go. This is a smart sell. 13
Skidmark Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 9m allegedly. Fofana levels of pulling the wool that. 3

We have to start making sensible decisions, we lost Tielemans, Soyuncu, Perez, Praet, Iversen all leave for free. We can't sustain those investments walking for nothing! 6
Popular Post Jazzy_Jeff Posted 15 August 2025 Popular Post Posted 15 August 2025 JJ seems like a really nice bloke when hearing him in interviews. He’s had a really tough time of it with injuries. The reality is that he is not as good as he was pre-ACL and if we can get a decent fee for him we should take it. That said, he’s always given his best here and his drop off is due to injuries and mid-management. Would wish him well and would ask fellow supporters not to disrespect him should he move on. 15

Chrysalis Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 My first thoughts were no, but contractual situation, we need to start acting like a competant business so accept the offer if 9m is anywhere near close to the truth.

Don’t disagree but we need a replacement in. Promotion is worth more than a small fee at the end of the day
Tielemans63 Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 If it's £9m, that's too good to turn down. That said, if this is just chucking more money into the black hole of debt without any intention to strengthen the squad, then losing a player who can play both sides could be costly. He's very replaceable, if they actually intend to replace him.

MaidstoneFox Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 Lots of championship level full-backs that could be bought for less than we'd get for JJ 1

We don’t know what we’re looking at right now. if we are balancing I’d personally prefer to keep him and replace with a proper fullback next year not a stop gap like max lowe. we will bring in about 4m and then spend half on someone like him and just be a worse team for 2m… just think we need to be careful what we wish for. If it means we can keep someone like bilal, that’s a different conversation

At the end of the day we need a complete restructuring of our wages. Almost every senior player we have should be on half the wages they are on and they can all point to each other to justify their wages. They wouldnt get the money theyre on here anywhere else though. If we can clear the decks we can get a full reset on our wage structure where the first team on average are on £30k a week rather than £60k a week. 1
Tielemans63 Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 Has this been reported by anyone even half-reliable? Genuine question.

Freeman's Wharfer Posted 15 August 2025 Posted 15 August 2025 He was horrendous last season. Get him gone and hopefully Ricardo can play a decent number of games with Coulibaly/Aluko filling in when needed.

Simply because I don’t think we go up with Thomas and hamza. And it’s very unlikely Ricardo stays fit. priority should be getting woyo and kristiansen out

Justin was one of our weaker players last time we were down anyway. I have high hopes for Aluko, big fan of the way he likes to drive with the ball.
