It’s not ideal but I’d certainly he rather be club captain than Hamza Choudhury

Hamza has always been loyal to the club and given his best, whether that's good enough is another matter. Off the field stuff is a problem, but I don't remember  many people saying Vardy shouldn't be captain, despite being convicted of assault or Wes Morgan for that matter for his driving conviction

Hamza is loyal because no one else will take him on the salary we pay him!!!!

Solid in a tackle. Other than that, runs around either laughing to himself or trying to get reactions from players that aren't interested.

Get the swamp drained!

Hamza isn't even really good enough to be playing for the club, lol

Ricardo should be captain, with Winks as vice.

The 'Miss You Enzo' reaction was overblown, and the baby commuting issue could have been resolved privately with a better manager in charge.

Nelson doesn’t need the extra pressure - he’ll still be learning and making mistakes on and off the pitch. Hopefully a future captain in a few years.

Winks should be nowhere near it, he showed clearly last season that he clearly isn’t a team player and didn’t give a toss about the club, get rid of the little shit!

Yeah its 99.9% Ricardo as senior club captain and when his poppadom legs are playing up there will be multiple vice captains over the season based on who is starting when Ricardo isnt.

Fine for others to see things differently.

My wife had post-natal depression and we have a friend who killed herself in post-natal psychosis. The early stages of a newborn are flipping hard work.

It would have been fine for him to help at home then travel up on the morning of matches. Loads of players seem to do it with no issues.

From my perspective, he put his baby and wife over a weird non-contracted ask from an employer to sleep at work the night before a shift. I can't imagine many unions not backing the employee in that situation.

I'd say standing up for what's right over an arbitrary rule showed balls and maturity. I'd imagine most responsible dads / husbands would as well. I even think he did well not speaking out when he was marginalised for putting his family first.

It’s a difficult one because in an ideal world, the Captain should imo be someone that is fairly ever present in the side, a player who the others respect and one with a voice on the pitch.

Ricardo and Choudhury are not likely to be regular starters. Winks and Vestergaad are doubtful characters with self interest more at heart. Fatawu and El Khanouss arguably too young albeit of great attitude. Remarkably the only one with any captain stature is Ayew!

How low have we sunk eh?

Hamza takes some flak on here he aint that bad as some make out.. he was more than good enough for Sheff U who only just missed out on promotion so should be a great squad player especially at the end of games with his energy.

The obvious flaw in that argument is that there was no suggestion whatsoever that there was any problem with his wife!

So don’t let’s claim he was standing up for some imaginary rights because he wasn’t. In the normal working world men work shifts whether in a trade, factory or our emergency workers. Some have to work away from home, some for days at a time and certainly not for an extremely inflated around £80,000 per week in wages! Winks was being an entitled little shit with no loyalty to his paymasters, teammates or manager that was trying to fight against relegation. I had two kids and worked shifts and long hours. Would I have preferred to stay at home and play Daddy? Of course I would but real life isn’t like that. All he was being asked was to sleep overnight at the equivalent of a 5 star hotel probably once a fortnight perhaps, is that really too much for Mr and Mrs Winks to suck up given their massive financial gains from Leicester City?

Not for me, the sooner he’s gone the better. He clearly got found out as a top player last year too which is probably why there weren’t many other Premiership clubs rushing to sign him when we did.

At least one of them will likely always be on the pitch, they're first and second choice right back if JJ goes.

Why does there need to be a suggestion something was wrong with his wife?

We do not deserve to and have no right to know about it

Surely logic dictates that if Winks wasn’t travelling due to domestic or other personal issues this wouldn’t even have come to light! I’m sure many of our players over the years have had personal issues and they are quite rightly kept under wraps from the media and public. This clearly not one of those though is it, that’s my point!

As I said people will see it differently, and that's fine.

It literally happened the week his baby was born. In my circumstances, I wouldn't have been spending one overnight a week away from my newborn baby. I think it was one of many issues badly managed by a manager out of his depth.

Anyway, clean slate for me - anyone who is still here is a Leicester player and I'll get behind them 100%.

Van Nistelrooy also has a decent history of falling out with people, I still think it was probably him making it bigger than it was

He also fell out with Buonanotte over boots ffs

i dont like the chemists either

Seeing as the options are either injury prone, totally inexperienced or plain shit we should just sack off having a formal club captain. Each week just give the armband to whichever one of them gets changed and into the tunnel first.

The only one doing loads of talking and organising on Saturday, from what I could see and hear, was Vestegaard. Not saying he should be captain, but there didn't seem much other leadership on the pitch. Perhaps as others have said, we don't have a natural leader, particularly one who would be considered a starter every week.
