‘By Far The Greatest Team’ needs to get an airing far more often. It’s a classic and sounds great when in full voice like today. The same can be said for When You’re Smiling.

Didn't look like 70 year old flaskers from what I could see.

great away support that.

They would have been there though, as the always are, supporting the City.

Interesting that this was basically the only away to sell out at a high priority level this season. Maybe the top bands are the singers after all and when it drops to lower priority the hobbyists get an opportunity.

I really enjoyed it yesterday.

Was 100% helped by being 3-0 up in 30 and it being a local derby.

Goal celebrations felt proper too. It wasn’t just a small cheer, people were really giving it some when the goals went in.

Derby fans were shite, although most would be if they were trailing by 3 for the majority of the game.

Didn't go yesterday, but good to hear it was a great atmosphere.

For most of the 70's and 80's, Derby away was easily the best atmosphere of the 3 main local derbies.    The Baseball Ground was real old school, tight up against the pitch, and a mostly covered away end ... whereas Forest and Cov away, were mostly in a big open terrace, where you'd struggle to get any decent atmosphere going even with 6000+ there.

One of my favourite trips to Derby was late on in 1975-76.   Derby were the reigning Champions, although effectively out of the title race.    We were 1-0 down, but quick 2nd half goals put us 2-1 us, the 2nd one being a brilliant header from Chris Garland.   Carnage in the away end, although the game did finish 2-2.

But I love this picture of that goal ... just look at all the Leicester blokes slap bang in the middle of the Derby end celebrating!

That’s the 1 in 8 that keeps you hooked

You can never really call the good ones with us. You go thinking yeah this is going to be belting today and it can be a damp squib. I was concerned Derby would be as it felt fairly flat all week and miles behind the other two in terms of nerves and worry. However it flipped on it's head and really was an outstanding away end from us.

It could also have been that all blocks were opened together not one at a time

Probably the best one since Preston 2 seasons back, everyone seemed bang up for it from the 1st whistle, obviously helped by the team actually trying and scoring early goals. Didn't really dip 2nd half either when Derby started to try and turn up the pressure either.

Dunno if it was the demographic, it being a local derby or an actual battling performance but no reason why we can't have that atmosphere going forward. We can dislike the ownership, board, potentially even manager and some of the players but getting behind those 11 and the young lads trusted to see the game out is easier than some of the egos that were left out.

I genuinely think that a huge part of it, is how the team play. We’ve had absolutely nothing to shout about for 18 months and our away ends have reflected that.

But there did seem to be less impatience and more of a better mindset maybe.

Was that the one when a bonfire was started under the stand using the broadsheet programs? Exciting for a teenager and didn't cross our minds how dangerous it was. Mad times.

class from this vid

The bit at the end when JJ goes over to the fans is joyous - shame he didn't video it for longer. That song is well and truly stuck in my head.

It needs the team to light the blue touch paper. Simple as that. Why should we bother if they can’t.

This is a dreadful way of thinking. Team are losing/boring, let's all sit down and be quiet.

We pay a lot of money to watch them. They get paid a lot of money to play. The least we should expect is effort from them and from what I have seen from some of the players borders on disdain for the club and its supporters.
Ever wondered why we are seeing so many empty seats?

Because it makes your day way more enjoyable.

This is it for me.  Whilst I've always supported city and always will, i wouldnt go if I had to sit in the West stand every week.  No disrespect to anyone there but my view is i can sit quietly and watch a game at home.  At least 50% of why i go is for atmosphere and that buzz when the whole end joins in (rarer these days). Remembering my first ever game it was the noise and atmosphere that made me want to go back, not just the game.....as i said, i could see games on TV.  Its just more fun full stop
