It's good that he's talking about Alves which is better than pretending he doesnt exist (Cooper).

Still he needs to back it up by starting him tonight, otherwise it's just words.

He needs blooding as he will be the replacement if Bilal leaves. I doubt we will be able to sign anyone in time.

He'll play. Especially if we end up losing BEK, which is likely.

I like that he's mentioned that the squad is too big. Perhaps a quiet signal to the board that players need selling, as if it wasn't obvious already.

Manager number 5 that’s not including him in match day squads when it matters - any chance the people that hugely rate him could be wrong - asking for a friend

there has literally been 1 squad this season, hardly a sign that Marti will never pick him

He didn’t even make the matchday 20 when younger less experienced youth did - nobody is saying he will never be picked but the hype simply isn’t being realised - I’m sure he is a lovely lad and very good footballer - I simply don’t know if it’s just the fact we keep getting managers that don’t fancy him or he is overrated- either way he isn’t being trusted at 20 years old to be good enough

The way Marti is speaking about him

makes it pretty clear he is held in high regard, you have to bear in mind he is currently battling BEK for a starting spot. Would not be surprised if he plays in the attacking midfield role this evening with the hope he really thrives given the highly likely departure of Bilal before the transfer window closes.

Rodgers - He was young and then injured

Dean Smith - Injured

Maresca - Injured until the last games of the season

Cooper - Played Choudhury at CAM in pre season ahead of him and brought in BCDR instead of him. Cooper's opinion on Alves is invalid because of those reasons.

RVN - Already on loan when he came in.

Cifuentes - Concerning lack of trust in Alves in the last pre season game and first game of the season but it's early on in his time here. Hopefully he gives him a fair shot.

Managers keep picking Wout Faes though and pretty much everyone on here doesn't rate him

I'll be disappointed if he starts. These will be his token "minutes." I'd prefer him featuring against Preston. I think it's another season of the old guard, with the youngsters always on the fringe. No future in the old guard. We know they're not good enough for the Premier. Hope I'm wrong, but I suspect it will be statements like the one above, or we need to protect Jeremy, we need to look after Will, Ben's performed well in training. All tosh. Get them playing in the league. The old guard can do the cups.

I'd have him starting in the league as well with El Khannouss playing box to box but it's very unlikely to happen with him not making the bench currently.

At least if he gets some starts for us in the cup under his belt he can impress and hopefully put himself in contention for the matchday squad or even a starting position.

Really need to start seeing something from him soon, obviously injury’s haven’t helped but if you’re good enough you find a way.

Hopefully starts and does well tonight
