Never been more confident that Forest will replace Dyche before we do anything...

Any manager that backs themself doesn't care about any of that. That's part of backing oneself!

A lot depends on how much interference there is from above.

If you know the details, managers can work with little resource, the club just need to be honest about that, work in the something to prove market, works with free transfers, young players, non league, there is bargains for a good team to find. Id be demanding some say in recruitment as its clear our current recruitment is unimaginative. Focus on the strengths of the players we have instead of being wedded to s style and formation the clearly doesn't work.

I think most fans are realistic about expectations especially now, the vast majority just want to see a team that goes out there and tries its best, if the manager is honest and sells it as a long term project, says what needs to be done, what the problems are and how he is going to solve them people will get on board with that and be patient.

I think a lot of fans are disappointed with the lack of accountability, there are those with blind faith. If people started being honest, stopped repeating the same mistakes that haven't worked fans would get behind that. It needs a clear out.

I think you aren't fully appreciating how much of a turn off this job is to anyone, a good manager likes a challenge, this is now a lot more than that, it's turning into a completely irreparable mess , and I think you don't seem to get how our recruitment works, we go through sporting and technical directors who at best have a decent say on who and how someone comes into the club, you've made my point there in a way. You can "demand", more control over the recruitment all you want the club is still well within it's rights to say no that's now how we work (which is what they would do) and then that's another reason not to take the job.

Which might be the reason the club wont get a manager. I would demand a number of things because its clear the club has a lot of issues, a good manager has earned the right to do that. Obviously the club being the club probably wont employ them. A good manager has the reputation and right to come in a suggest changes to get success.

What the club really wants is a yes man coach like Marti who does as he is told. Which is problematic.

The club is a mess. Its not necessarily the applicants that wont come, its more the club wont employ them into Rudkins empire as they wont accept they are running a shit sinking ship that needs a serious overhaul.

Dyche is not coming here, he will want for another low level PL job.

Is there anything in the rumour that we had someone lined up who went cold on us ………..

this fella was mentioned early on

Sean Dyche has either just been paid a lump sum £10m or is still on the books at Forest at approx £90k a week. No way he's giving that up to come here. He will take a few months off and land a decent job in the summer. There is no chance we can attarct anyone like that.

King is more than good enough to take us down. He is bloody awful a yes man with no pedigree as a manager or coach. So why would anyone in power think he will keep us up. We need someone hard and capable of keeping us up. Sean Dyche fits the bill

Dyche is exactly the kind of manager we need! steady the sinking ship keep us in the league wont take no shit off the players and he might actually get us a clean sheet. and get the squad to a good base level again.

No way on this earth he would look at us.

Does anyone think the club is actually doing ANYTHING? Top told us a while ago that a Technical Director appointment was imminent but nothing happened. He mentioned this big restructuring but there's zero sign of it. Sacked Marti nearly 3 weeks ago, yet zero links to anyone...aside from a rumoured call to Enzo that frankly seems pie in the sky. I know the club tends to do its business on the quiet but this feels off. Maybe the coffers are now completely empty and we're going to wing it with Kingy...

Doing business on the quiet conceals a lack of activity as well.

It's a bit blue sky thinking to be honest, at any club, never mind this one. Glasner at Palace would be a good example of the fact managers really aren't that empowered anymore, and I think people  have always thought they hold more power than they do even when they had control of player recruitment and wages. They are ultimately there to get the best out of what's at the club not get involved in the clubs internal long term visions and strategy.

Which has both it's pros and cons tbf.

Your under lying point does have some merit though I personally feel there is no chance the decision to appoint neither Dyche or Wilder had little to do with actual capabilities and more the fact Cifuentes just bought into the way they like to operate far more.

Sacking Cifuentes at the time we did has put us in such an awkward situation, sacking him during the international break in November was the perfect window, just like Norwich did with Liam Manning, it was just unfortunate that beating Norwich before that international break kept Marti in a job lol

Sacking him at the end of January, then twiddling your thumbs for a few weeks, it just leaves you in that awkward situation of, do we try and get an interim until the end of the season, or do we actually appoint someone permanently.

You have managers like Dyche and Rowett that you’d probably be content with on an interim basis.

But if you appointed one of them on a permanent basis, they keep us in the Championship, do you then want them to have the keys to a summer transfer window, which could potentially end up being a massive rebuild, looking at their history in the transfer market, it would have to be a firm no.

The title Realistic Managerial Replacements is all down to Top and what he is going to do and at what stage does someone take responsibility and say enough is enough, a 1st Division club in freefall for the 2026/27 season is worth very little. A newly promoted club in the premiership for season 27/28 or 28/29 at worse it worth considerably more. The club need to  be honest with fans and  truthful with a new management team. THe club needs a proper reset and hopefully the shameful performance against Soton should be the point where enough is enough. Put plans in place to stay up and reboot next season with a massive squad overhaul and running properly should be an attractive position for plenty of decent managers. The points dedcution has finally landed after causing years bof doubts, ifs and buts so that excuse has gone. Being honest and backing a manager within our means should start to turn things around.Of course the big issue is the ownership accepting we are in a mess

same with the end of season review from a few years ago. It’s laughable and to the point now where he and they are taking the piss out of us.

Erm, he's got the highest win % of any manager under Marinakis and say what you want about him to say he hasn't improved anything on Ange Postacoglou is just fundamentally incorrect lol

Despite their recent form it's a harsh sacking to me and one they may well pay for.
