Its always good to have an in depth match review from the saff

This team is headed for a disaster of biblical proportions, real wrath of God type stuff.  Fire and brimstone coming down from the skies! Rivers and seas boiling!  Forty years of darkness! Earthquakes, volcanoes...

The dead rising from the grave! (Which might explain Lurch, Farce and Forty Winks.)

Human sacrifice, dogs and cats living together... MASS HYSTERIA!

We just massively lack people who love defending and have the character to block shots no matter the cost. A defence with a Huth in or a Morgan and we win that yesterday. Not that they’re a brilliant footballers, but they take pride in clean sheets.

By contrast we have Vesty, Faes and then Winks as DM. All nice in the eye footballers at times, but not a true defender on the pitch. I’d take Nelson and Okoli or even Souttar at CB and Hamza at DM all day long right now.

On the plus side we won the last 90mins yesterday!

I get no sense that manager or players start the game with an active desire and proactive plan to score goals and/or win. I have no doubt they want both of those things but that’s different to really wanting it. They just seem to ‘do football’ and see what happens and accept the natural consequence. That combined with some players way beyond their ability and/or sell by date means there is no surprise as to where we are.

I say this knowing that since Vardy was at his best (not since the title win) we have also had a gaping hole at the top of the pitch - quite why we haven’t signed a competent striker since then given some of the signings we’ve made is a total mystery. Maresca overcame that with midfield goals but our midfield (including Fatawu and Steph) cannot hope to compensate.

But,  yes I’ll be back for Ipswich hoping…

It was signposted at the start of the season. Get the willy pullers out of the squad. Create a bomb squad.

Cos it was clear second half you had the majority ****ing trying

Yeah someone like Faes in particular, it's a World Cup year just come in and tell him you need to get yourself a move because you aren't being involved here, think Marti's too nice for this and he'd also need the backing of the higher ups to do it

I would lock them in a room and make them watch goal one and 2 over and over again and call out all the mistakes.

Then play it to the u8s and get their reaction to it and play that to the players! Needs to be highlighted that kids can do better.

Had the club got any analysts? Getting rid of JV will see an instant change in the dynamic of the team.

The glimmers of hope all come from when he isn’t controlling the tempo.  When Skipp was driving out of the back, attacks seemed to flow forwards. When JV got control and can’t help himself, he either invited the press and passes the danger onto others, or the players around him skip into the easy mode of sideways and back again.

The manager and his team either can’t see this and don’t know the cause or can’t handle senior players.

Ricardo isn’t a captain, he’s not a leader, role model and someone to respect is a different thing.  No one is calling the clowns out enough for them to stop making the same mistakes.

That's the issue though, Vestergaard is clearly asked to play that role though isn't he?

The defending for that first goal is just indefensible.

We’re an embarrassment.

That was all on Thomas, Mavidi and Winks 😉 Thomas diving in and getting rinsed as usual, Mavididi for some inexplicable reason laying off a delightful ball to their attacker and Winks for trying to be clever rather than just clearing the ball and realising too late he'd put the wrong boots on for the wet conditions and falling over like a 1 year old whose just learned to walk.  Pathetic. At least Mavs redeemed himself by going on to be the best player out their for the rest of the game so credit to him, Winks was hooked quite rightly and Thomas - well its Thomas hes got the best part of 4 years left on his contract so he dont give a **** anyway.

Vestergaard too. He took too long to clear, had to turn back onto his left and it carried on from there.

We can all see that there are issues with how we are setting up and that the current formation and team selection is not working but feck me that first half hour and the 3 goals we conceded were nothing to do with tactics that was just players chucking in the towel and throwing the manager under the bus. Winks and Faes were an utter disgrace yesterday, if Marti is sacked then these two whoppers also have to be removed from any matchday squads until they leave the club.

Something is wrong with Ricardo. He is playing exactly like Thomas.  Boring and constantly making mistakes that someone with half a brain, let alone him shouldn’t be making.

Nice to see Hamza like Cannons instagram post of him scoring yesterday.

Surely as our vice captain he can see the optics?? If not, he’s thick as pig shit.

Just another example of one of our players seemingly not caring/acting tone deaf.

I think he really just is as thick as pig shit.

Just watched that first Sheff Utd goal again (I’m a Masochist) and lost count of the individual errors, it’s like when you’re playing FIFA or PES and hand the controller to your three year old nephew and he just bashes random buttons.

At least two players had the opportunity to swing a leg and just put the ball out for a throw, others dived in to challenges when just standing up holding up play would have bought us a moment to organise, there was hot potato time, tight passes in silly areas, awful passes and enough opportunities to nullify the threat several times over.

Were we more interested in identifying it as an opportunity to break on them by playing out around them, just put it in row Z, they don’t score from there. Just shambolic panicking, yet another sign of our confidence being completely shot to bits.

It’s disgusting how brain dead every player is who touched the ball. Ricardo sending it backwards twice but it’s JV who causes all the chaos.  Even under pressure in front of goal he can’t help but take too long then try and play his way out of danger he instigated. JV, Thomas, Mav and Winks all useless at the most basic thing.  Ask them to shoot and they can mange to boot it into the car park.

The obsession of overplaying backwards by this team and manager is insane.

I hate you. I felt compelled to watch it again. Starts with Vestergaard being pressed back to the line. Then it seems everyone has 2 chances to deal with it. Simply unbelievable. I can work out who is worse. Probably Winks.

Yep, plenty of culprits but Winks for me too.

I watched that first minute, mouth wide open, not quite comprehending the unbelievable shambles that was happening before my eyes.

I swear, a bunch of fellas who had never seen a football before, let alone played, couldn't had made a bigger pigs ear of that situation.
