True, but he should have been playing here, ideally after a successful loan spell prior.

This season we've dropped to his level, or even below now, so he should have been involved. He for sure should be starting any game JJ isn't fit.

Hindsight judgement on my part, but cannot have any confidence that recent managers would have picked him often enough for him to get comparable game time.

You're correct not to have any confidence in us doing anything right. Hence me saying it's what we should have done.

We wouldn't be in as much of a mess if we'd started with Nelson and Braybrooke from the off rather than persisting with Faes, Okoli, Winks, Soumare, etc.

He’s genuinely better than what we have.  Looking forward to seeing him next season wherever we are.

great move by the club giving him a new deal

Have we? By my reckoning his contract is up next summer along with Nelson's.

Was still worth sending him on loan though imo. Game time is important.

Yeah agree with this, we’ve needed him all year but the game time he’s got is invaluable. Always the debate with loan players I guess.

Like KDH in 20/21 IMO. Could have done with him 2nd half of the season but his progression at Luton was invaluable.

He looks very raw but I would love to see him in the squad next season. The loans out are obviously improving his game and confidence so it’s about time we rolled the dice with him and gave him a proper opportunity here.

I’ll have to research it but I remember posting saying it was great we gave him one on the back of his injury after he seemed to drop out of favour. I thought it was this summer, but plausible it was a one year deal but that seems unlikely

it was announced in one of our batch releases of a lot of youth

I just found it “Another midfielder, Sammy Braybrooke, 21, who made his First Team debut in the EFL Cup last season, sees his stay extended until at least 2027,

sounds like we have an option to extend it then

Miles wide of the mark to the initial take, as per usual. Not saying he’s going to completely revolutionise our game, but that he’s (at least closely approaching) on par with what we have.

he’s playing in what division?  And people act like he’s our saviour lol

listen, he’s a good player.   But he’s really not up to championship standard. Yet.

We're not in the prem anymore where we have Maddison and Tielemans.

He looks around the same as what we have on low wages and is still young.

HES PLAYING IN THE SECOND DIVISION.

Why didn’t he get a move to the 1st  if he’s as good as people think he is? I really think he’s a couple of year away from being a regular for us.

Im not one to get carried away with hyperbole but Tbf, the interesting thing about that highlights reel was how much more attacking and positive he was in the 2nd half of that game and how much higher he played up the pitch.  Was playing like a proper No.10 in that 2nd half

If that was his first outing for them, you would expect him to take some time to get up-to-speed with his new team-mates (ie 1st half!) so if he carries on improving for the rest of the season like he did in that 2nd half performance, he's going to do very well there....!

Dont shoot me down for this as Im not suggesting for one second hes anywhere in the same class but......... physically, he reminded a bit of Modric the way he looks and played in that 2nd half...!

people are hyping him up too much. My grandma could look good in the 2nd division

1. Starting from next season we will have barely any first team players.

2. Most of our players are playing at a league one level with a couple high performers like James and Fatawu keeping us afloat.

So we're talking about a player who should have been loaned to league one because he's too good for league two and comparing him to players who should be playing in league one because theyre not good enough for the championship. He's not that far off most of our first team really.

3. 9 months ago we were in the Premier league and charlton were in league one, a two division difference, now Chartlon have recently beaten us at home and are above us in the table. Two divisions is not insurmountable.

good grief. If that’s a ‘ highlight reel tha gets people excited then no wonder we are in the mess we are in.

not saying he isn’t a good player but totally bang average highlight reel

It's a compilation of every time he touched the ball in a single match, in order of when they happened in the game.

It's not a highlights reel, it's not even chosen touches from the game, it's everything he did in the whole game.

There's loads on YouTube, it's really interesting watching edits of the greats, like every touch Iniesta had in a random league game or whatever.

This is a man of the match performance, and he's in the thick of everything all game. I like how he moves things forward, some of his passing is a bit off but the strength and effort in that run down the line at about 2:20 is great to see.

Talented player imo, hopefully he gets out of this shit show of a club and has a good career.

I think history shows you more often than not, that when a player is the best player at this sort of age, no matter what level in England the step up isn’t that big.

Just look at Ben Nelson. He didn’t even smash league 2, he was average to good over 2 spells.

The only exception is when you have kick and run players, which Sammy is clearly not. If anything, to look this elegant and physical in league 2 is far more impressive because those guys just aim to kick lumps out of you.  Id wager anything, he will be a top championship player minimum.

Skepticism is fine, but I trust my eyes. This ain’t a player like Brandon cover. If you watch a full game, you’ll see exactly what I mean, you can just see he’s technically so far ahead of everyone else on that pitch and he’s only going to get better (if he stays healthy)

That's not quite right. At Doncaster, he was very highly praised for his performances, his manager waxed lyrical about his skill set. Not disagreeing with your post in what you describe but Nelson is another who's gone through the English youth ranks and come out well. Hopefully finds his confidence again under Rowett.
