Yes.

The chances of the incompetent Billionaire selling vastly increase in the Prem:

- We’d attract better offers

- He could move on without the guilt of tarnishing his dad’s legacy

- The lower we go the more likely he is to dig in and stubbornly hold on for the “better times”

I think promotion becomes harder with each passing season that we don't achieve it. Sooner is better financially, even if we were to go up and just take the money and finish 20th, it would help the finances immensely.

Problem in the Champ is building is difficult. Very susceptible to players getting poached and ultimately we'd need a season like this where the relegated clubs struggle.

This is a particularly relevant point. It looks like at least one, possible two, established clubs will come down, unless Leeds fall back into it. Wolves certainly and maybe West Ham or Forest.

Next season will be harder.

My perspective is no we do not. If we get promoted we miss out on parachute payment just like we did last time. Increased cost eat up increased `TV revenues as you try to survive. Our parlous finances require a pause period to recover. We need to go through another summer to remove the last of the overpaid dross. Then a rebuild probably over another two seasons.

Yes, this club should always aspire to be in the top division.

However, on a practical level, it would require significant change. I would suggest we'd need probably 9 new first team players at least and bulking the squad up. The chances of hiring better personnel in the higher up departments increases (that is if we are seriously looking, which I doubt) but still way too many issues to resolve.

I think we are done as any sort of reasonable force under this regime.

That doesn’t make sense

You’re worried about missing out on a reduced parachute payment?

Missing out on a parachute payment because we’re getting a full Premier League payment is apparently bad!

Time is not our friend as cash flow in football is horrible. If promoted we would see no EPL money until May 2027. We would have failed PSR again unless we invested nothing in the squad. Under new EPL rules our investment is restricted. Losing heavily every week again and being relegated is going to further erode the paying fan base. More factoring with the banks cannot continue. We need a pause and stabalise.

This year is a write off, we'll be better off staying in championship another year. Use it to deal with the PSR, get rid of the toxic players and finally gain some stability.

Promotion obviously brings tremendous financial advantages but would  be fairly pointless unless we also remove and replace the useless senior management who got us into this position in the first place.

We can't have confidence that they wouldn't simply make all the same mistakes again

Do we deserve promotion, no. Should we aspire for promotion, yes. Even if (and that’s a very big if) we did somehow manage to make it to the playoffs; we’d only turn off for the first half and bottle it anyway.

You’ve got to always, hope, pray, dream as a fan. Due to circumstances, we’ve struggled to do that recently. Even our title win the last time down here had a hint of disappointment for a few reasons: 1, we shouldn’t have been down there in the first place; 2, the expectancy of losing KDH alongside some players most struggled to like due to previous performances;  3, the loss of Enzo and what followed; and 4, something we unfortunately won’t shake until he does the right thing (which is very unlikely given the person he is) the issues with the ownership.

I want to hope for promotion until it’s mathematically impossible. I want to hope that Cifeuntes either sorts himself out or we sack him and bring someone in and in either circumstance we hit the run of all runs. I’m hoping we find a superstar or two amongst the ranks that has an awesome 2026. Because that is what being the fan is and having a sport as a spectator hobby.

However, with all that, I don’t want to get promoted with Vestegaard, Soumare, Faes, Winks etc. playing prominent roles. I just don’t think I can celebrate them anymore. I want to see Souttar, Okoli, Nelson push them out. I want to see James, Skipp continue with what they seem to be building. Etc. etc. getting promoted with the others as key players, I just can’t do it again so that’s the only situation I would say no.

Yeh just having a scan back to the last time we were in the division. This seasons Coventry would be sitting third, 4 behind Ipswich and 7 behind us. They'd be 6 ahead of Leeds and Southampton.

Financially, yes. We need promotion ASAP.

Yes, Sadly I think the KP parent Company don't want to Bankroll us anymore. Top gambled heavily on Rogers and lost.

A Cash injection from promotion would be a big help in the short term even if it meant another relegation while we get back on our feet.

We need to build a new young team around Jakub, Nelson, James, Fats along with the up and coming young players, Monga, Aluko, Thomas etc.

I'd bring back Maresca as it looks like he's fallen out with Chelsea and will leave in the Summer if not earlier.

Let's be clear, if we go up this season we are breaking Derby's record, last time we had our record net spend in the summer on top of a far better and more confident squad and we were still rubbish.

This time we will not have much money to spend and what we will spend will go towards players in the Ayew, Reid, Skipp mold I.e. benchwarmers of established PL teams.

Much rather have another season in the championship with the likes of Braybrooke, Nelson, Alves, Evans, Hutchinson, Aluko, Page playing a regular part than us go up and watch our current seniors and new recruits stink up the pitch every week.

Lots of fortune telling go on here.

Going back up would give us a financial boost.

How we approach next season is the more important than whether we are in the PL or Championship.

Even if we did go up would need to invest money in the team else we will keep going up and down like a whores drawers

Financially, yes we need promotion

But if we got promoted this season the whole cycle continues of poor signings on stupid money that we are stuck with (in my opinion)

We need to be promoted with a team that's bonded on the pitch and financially secure for the club no matter what division we are in and add 2 or 3 good signings to that team when entering the premier league.

This team isn't capable of promotion though sadly no matter how talented we think some of the individual may be capable of.

The other sad thing is that failure to secure promotion this season means Fatawu and Monga will most likely leave who I think are the only players from the 1st team that we could build a good team around for the future.

But that’s why we make loans with Macquarie, secured against that incoming cash. We take a haircut to get the cash now. It’s not an issue unless you’re securing it against future seasons we can guarantee, that’s bad business.
