The trouble with Thomas is even on his non calamity days like today he is still good for 2 or 3 errors leading directly to opposition chances. We've seen enough over a long enough period now to know he isn't good enough to be our starting LB. 2

And they have looked dodgy once the revert to possession passing around the back. Thomas and Ayew are the bottlenecks in this team, along with the slow backwards invite the press until Jakob hoofs it. Quick, positive attacking works. Slow sideways and boring doesn’t.
