Md9 Posted 24 January Posted 24 January (edited) I think if a new manager came in and stuck ayew and Thomas in the under 19s squad ( unfair on the young lads I know) I would rather that than any panic loan signings Edited 24 January by Md9

This version is because we have no runners and no idea what we're supposed to be doing. We have two options, panic and lump it, or just keep the ball. Any attempt at moving forwards breaks down immediately, so we tend to default to one of the above. And it comes back to, yes, poor players, but moreso at this point I think a total lack of tactical analysis, shape, patterns or a plan. Which compounds itself with a lack of confidence. Anything good that happens is either a moment of magic or seemingly an accident/the opposition switching off. It's quite funny seeing the body language of our players when we actually create something or find some space. The sense of 'fvcking hell how did that happen' is abundantly obvious. Yeah that's what's frustrating. They were drilled into working together. There is zero need for Ayew to drop to cb to get involved with passing backwards. He should be goal hanging, ready to pounce. Simple 1-2s and cross should be bread and butter for these but they act like they will get docked if they pass and move into space. The wingers stand still when anyone does move forwards, that's after 20 short passes backwards to slow it all down. This all comes from the manager not drilling anything into them.
Popular Post EnderbyFox Posted 24 January Popular Post Posted 24 January Is it really wise to be bringing Luke Thomas on in this wind? 5

CloudFox Posted 24 January Posted 24 January What a terrible situation we find ourselves in. I actually sort of want us to lose if it means Marti goes. But he won't, will he? Not until March at the earliest I reckon.

Richmondfox Posted 24 January Posted 24 January Is Nelson injured? Why bring Thomas on but keep Okoli or JV on. At this point surely even this clown in charge can see Thomas only impacts us negatively.
MPH Posted 24 January Posted 24 January “Okoli is punished for tugging Harris” should be a straight red to be fair.. 1

"Wonderkid" Monga has also had plenty of game time this season. Reality is, none of the academy lads are really ready for Championship football. And this would be the case even with Arteta or Pep as manager. Nelson who Enzo gave games last time we were here and played at this level last year, I wouldn't say he's particularly trusted Page or Monga either, he's pretty much had to play Page today Edited 24 January by Tommy Fresh
BigGibbo Posted 24 January Posted 24 January Abysmal to a man, but knowing our luck this will end 1-1. A lucky own goal or something so Marti can carry on delusionally pretending we were even in the game against League One fodder.
Rubbersoul Posted 24 January Posted 24 January Another absolutely revolting start to a second half. I hate Marti Cifuentes 1
