If he plays it's purely transactional. He gets one chance to put himself in the shop window by putting in something approaching effort. We get an extra body for a one-off game to tackle how light our midfield suddenly looks with Skipp and JJ out. I am not even going to acknowledge the other waste of space who just left.

I won't be there but I wouldn't be hostile personally. I doubt Kingy particularly wants to pick him, but he (King) seems to have his head screwed on and acknowledges that three points in a game like this will be vital when (not if) the points deduction comes.

The alternative is to rely on a 17 year old, a shite footballer who's only still here so King Power can sell shirts in Bangladesh, and an out-of-position fullback who has been woefully out of form for most of the season. The viable academy prospects are all out on loan. With all that considered, I honestly will not blame Kingy one bit for selecting him on this occasion, even just for a bench spot.

I'd like to think those going could be fully supportive of King and so if he selects Winks, there's not too much adverse reaction. But I guess others may have a different opinion.

If he starts, he doesnt get a cheer. I think we need to back King right now so booing him doesnt make sense.

If he plays well, he gets a nod from me.

When others are back, they start over him.

Simple.

Personally, I'd boo him but I get the flimsy arguments against.

If you're not 100% in then you're out. Whatever our standard that should be the mantra.

Ding Ding. Another person has stumbled inadvertadly across the problem!

He will get a very mixed reaction, wouldn’t be surprised by audible boos… I completely agree with the sentiment but at the point we are at now it’s worth focusing on the real problem and being as neutral as possible to the players chosen(owners and board are the real issue)

Anyone who cheers him is part of the problem; not the solution.

Look at the bigger picture. If he plays and actually shows some level of care, then we have a better chance of getting points and thus putting more daylight between us and the bottom and avoid relegation.

If we don't play him and do get relegated, then questions will be asked if he could have helped.

We are not in a position to havd the luxury of having a good player sitting at home. If JJ and Skipp and we brought in someone else were available, then yes, he shouldn't play. But needs must at the moment, however ugly it is. We have Hamza and Page, who else can play there if one gets injured? Even an Oxford fan identified Hamza as the worst player on the pitch last week!!

We may have to use him. Will I like it, no. Will I boo him? Only if he doesn't put any effort in like his last game. We have to hope that King has spoken to him and shown him the light. He plays well, he gets a better move in the summer.

Plays / playing well I expect he'll get a good reception from the corner.

Do we really know what's gone on. I appreciate it doesn't look good and he may be a **** but it may also be that he's similar to Roy Keane in that the shit he sees every day has got to him.

Player falls out with extremely poorly run club. I appreciate he's fallen out with 2 managers but one was a complete dick and the other was after his woeful performance against the blades and I assume words were exchanged.

King needs to tell him a few home truths and get him enjoying his football again - It's his best way out of his situation.

I don't understand why we haven't got at least 1 midfield player and a striker on loan in January.

We've been short all season in those positions and now we're desperate.

Winks hasnt looked interested all season and I don't see anything changing under King.

This all goes back to the fall out with RVN and he's effectively been on strike since then.

Ideally there'd be silence when his name is announced rather than cheers or boos. Out of respect for Kingy picking him and to not start his first game as acting manager on the wrong foot. But no one could actually support Winks again.

He won’t be picked and he won’t play. King is being diplomatic with his response.

Im not being funny, the bloke has twice refused to play for us, and clearly does not want to be here. He deserves no support from us at all. And this is yet another example of some of the fanbase being complicit in the demise of this football club…. It should be none negotiable, it is reported that he’s on £90k a week and he’s refused to play for us twice despite this? He can **** off frankly, I’d rather play Okoli CM in all honesty.

Perhaps you're correct regarding his selection - but if if he were I'd take it you'd not be supportive of King's decision. Would you voice your anger by booing him? I'm not being judgemental as everyone has differing opinions, I'm just curious.

I’d be surprised if King picked him, because of his behaviour and attitude within the group. id be a tad disappointed in him too….

I won’t boo him but I won’t active support him…

I’ll caveat this with perhaps Wink’s displeasure has been at the running/decisions made on the pitch, however, having reportedly had issues with three managers now, I’d say wu la very much is the problem.

If he’s there, I hope he gets the worst reaction we can muster. Piece of shit.

With all due respect, supporters need to check their brain cells if they still back Winks given his conduct post Maresca. What message does that send to the team if he is given a positive reaction? The main issue we have right now is toxic twats dick swinging. It’s a team sport FFS
