Don't shoot me down but I seem to recall Junior Lewis looking really good when he came in on loan and having some great games.

It was only even we signed him permanently that he turned to utter gash.

Honourable mention for how bad Shaun Newton was. And then we signed him permanently...

Leicester City Football Club - making baffling decisions from day dot.

LCFC loans XI (Since 1988)

Best loan players we’ve had (Not before or after, that’s why Kane/Lingaard don’t count)

Unless I’m forgetting players, It would appear that we haven’t had many good defenders on loan. Many horror shows at the back - McGivern, Fenwick, Madden, Bennett, Van Aarnholt, Hooper in goal.

Cracking midfield though and not bad upfront.

Martin Fulop

Gary Charles

Alexander Dragovic

Robert Huth

Kyle Naughton

Mark Davies

Youri Tielemanns

Jordan James

Muzzy Izzett

Yakubu

Kevin Campbell

Honourable mentions to Micky Galloway, Nathan Dyer and Tom Cleverley.

Any changes?

Remembering Laurie Cunningham, certainly one of the most talented players we’ve ever had on loan. He would have been 70 today RIP

I loved watching him play, it was like having a Brazilian in the team he was so comfortable on the ball, he’d flummox opponents by walking with it then if they dived in he’d drop a shoulder and go the other way. Some of the tricks and flicks I saw in the reserves games where he had more time and space were off the scale - a dribble with his chest that took him past 4 men!

When I watched his documentary there was a clip of him at Madrid “this is where they kick me” as he rolled down his sock, his leg was in a state and I was welling up, the game needs entertainers like him, so many kids get inspired but he has to be the one to take the pain.

RIP Laurie, not forgotten.
