Huth is the correct answer.

We simply would've gone down without him and we couldn't have won the league without him. He was so important to our greatest moment.

Kane for the player he's become though, not what he was for us.

He was bobbins for us.

Peter Weir and Nicky Cross were the shrewd, clever sort of loan signings we thought Pleat was going to deliver time and again.

Alas,.both left at the end of their half season loans and Pleat went doolally

Weir was a loan? Used to pretend to be him in the playground (before Tommy turned up) thought he was here for at least a season.

Not the best ever loan but I remember Paul Kerr in 1993/94. Loan swap from Port Vale with David Lowe going the other way. Scored a couple of crucial goals in wins over Portsmouth and Sunderland in the run-in to help us make the playoffs.

Great call.

Campbell for saving our season.

Galloway - cult hero.

Izzet for being a catalyst for promotion and the start of the O'Neill era.

Huth for the Great Escape and 2016.

Greg? Didnt rate him at all personally

Actually Laurie Cunningham got hm on loan from Real Madrid. Played against Manchester United at Filbo and tore them a new one in a 3-0 win. Sadly died just after going back to Spain in a car crash

Maybe not the best, but I always thought that Roberto Mancini in the few games he played for us, was a class above anyone else in the team.

I wish there was more footage of him playing for us available to watch just so I can take in how much better he was than the duffers playing around him, often to his detriment.

Its a well worn trope on here, but all Yak did was score goals. His work rate and impact in general play was practically nil.

Bit of an underrated skill as it turns out this season.

Could say the same of Berbatov or latter day Ibrahimovic.

I remember the game against Arsenal where he got the ball and ran like fook towards their goal, going almost the length of the pitch. When he got to their box, he looked around for another blue shirt but all our players were still in their own half looking at him like, what the hell is he doing????

Laurie Cunningham was on loan from Marseille initially, not Real Madrid..

Not a joke at all, just thought he was very average. Spent pretty much his whole career in the EFL

OK. I'm that case I think the Cunningham in the cited case was, in fact, Laurie. Possibly before your time...

I always thought Mark Davies looked excellent when we signed him from wolves on loan.

He became a fan favourite very quickly didn’t he

Huth. He honestly was the catalyst for EVERYTHING that happened after that. You could genuinely argue that loan signing was the most important thing the club ever did.

Mark Davies was my absolute favourite (saying as everyone else has already gone Huth lol)

First game was very much "oh shit he's far too good for us"

A 2 month loan deal, turned out Bolton had more money than us back then lol

They have now

Yes maybe the OP meant Laurie, although I think he was on a short term contract when with us, rather than being a loanee.

I thought they were both perms?

I cited Cross as such. When you point out to some people that they don't know their facts, they go rather quiet.

I remember a cross (to call it a cross is to do it a disservice) he put right on Muzzy's head in a 2-1 win against Chelsea in 2001. Probably the best ball I'd seen a Leicester player play up to that point. Sumptuous. Muzzy missed though...

Remember Kerry Gilbert, right back from Arsenal? Thought he was quality while with us in League One. Surprised he never went on to have a career.
