If the club are so interested in points how about focusing on fielding an organised, motivated, disciplined side without egocentric want aways and bomb scare defenders, you never know we might  gain some legitimately if we do that.

More from ChatGPT regarding the PL appeal for late submission of accounts...

Is a points deduction realistic for just being late?

In practice:

  • A minor or short delay would almost certainly result in a fine or warning.

  • A serious, repeated, or strategically significant failure (especially if it obstructed PSR monitoring) could justify a points deduction.

On one side, I am confused as to why the club would do this - just take your punishment and move on.

Then on the other side, I do wonder why the Premier League are so intent on hammering us. Is it because we embarrassed them time we used a loophole to get out of sanctions? Did we pee off someone in particular at the PL that they're now like a dog with a bone? With so many clubs having done some obviously dodgy dealings e.g. Chelsea selling their womens team to themselves, Newcastle and Villa with their dodgy sale/purchases of each others home grown talent etc. (not mentioning Man City), Forest signing about 50 playes in two seasons. Why are we constantly getting hammered?

Can't Top just pop on his big boy pants and pick up the phone to the PL to draw a line in the sand now we've received a punishment. Both sides need to start behaving like adults. This debacle is starting to make the Vardy v Rooney case look like value for money. It's ridiculous! We need to wind our neck in and the PL just need to accept the results of the IC.

We didn't need this hanging over us. Just let it go FFS.

We can't just let it go. An appeal by the Premier League is not in our control. The club can't be held responsible for that.

Simon Jordan just hammered us for this on TalkSport...basically saying we got off lightly so why appeal and bring back all the attention when the focus should be fully on the new manager and getting enough points on the board to stay up.

Why wouldn’t you appeal a sanction that you felt was unfair having been found guilty?  Who on here wouldn’t appeal a custodial sentence in the criminal courts if you felt it was unduly hefty for a first offence? How do we know that the mitigation hasn’t been considered and/or applied correctly by the independent panel! Kieran Maguire felt that our punishments was hefty.

if the club win and it’s reduced to a fine or 2 points then from a playing/spirting perspective it’s a no brainer

Let’s not forget The football authorities keep amending the rules as it suits and at the time when we breached the rules were different so should we be punished so heavily especially retroactively?

Surely one day a club will have their deduction increased after appealing. Unless the formalities always are you just appeal no matter what.

I'm assuming we only got 6 points cause the league are genuinely worried we'll get relegated.

I know PSR has it's issues but, really, it was probably brought in to protect fans from owners like Top (and Rudkin). People who are so inept and clueless that they spend money they don't have instead of running the club properly.

I don’t understand how Whelan gets a free hit for this!

The other two are unqualified idiots, she was the qualified accountant .
They are all guilty.

Did he not mention the PL appeal for late submission of accounts? Just half a story, as usual, to create a talking point.

Assuming we lose our appeal and the PL win theirs regarding late submission of accounts, is there a guideline for how many points deducted that would be?

My understanding is that nobody else has ever received a points deduction for this and we certainly aren’t the first to put our documents in late.

Excuse my ignorance in this But I was sure in my mind that you can’t be punished in the football league for something done wrong in the premier league and vice versa as they are two different companies if you like.
