How can it be touching it and across the line at the same time?

I didn't actually think any of the physical ball was touching the line but there was a bit of the ball over hanging the line which I thought meant it wasn't a goal.

Obviously I've got the rules wrong.

The edge of the ball is touching the edge of the line. None of the ball is covering the line. Hence all of the ball is across the line

imagine the ball in this image is a tiny bit closer to the line. it would be touching it but it would also be fully across the line.

I feel like a bald man discussing with another bald man over who gets the comb 😄

Is the line at the top or bottom of your image? The line at the top is a goal and the line at the bottom of the image isn't a goal because there is no part of the ball over hanging the line.

If that's the official image that wasn't the one I saw at HT 😂

Mate you couldn’t tell the difference between a weekend away in Lisbon and the end of the world the other day, pretty sure you’re less accurate than goal line tech

Unless we were playing Preston in the 2024/25 Europa League I don't think that's the official image

If we end up two points short of survival...

That won't be the difference. It's a legit goal and there are several other moments and individuals that have collectively attributed to being relegated. Damage is well and truly done well before this goal was given.

I'm sorry that ball wasn't over the line on the camera replay. That needs investigating and we need to question the tech there.

Sorry Rudkin, but the ball was over the line….. nurse he’s out of bed again !

Don’t worry mate I thought the same, I was sat there thinking there’s absolutely no way daka has scored 2 goals. I assumed the officials got it wrong. But turns out it actually happened :schlupp:

That must be the tightest goal line decision of all time, it's what, 0.5mm?  I'd be questioning the thickness of the line!

When it's that close, the benefit of the doubt should go to the team that is in the most trouble and playing at home.

Don't see much issue tbh. It's obviously over.

If it was the other way round and we didn't get that we'd be livid.

People want more common sense rulings and less of this by millimeters micro analysing nonsense.

Maybe I've misrepresented the rules. I thought that all edges of the ball need to be over the line but maybe there's a bit of give or take as the still shot I've just seen on an animation, if you're looking down from the top shows at least a bit of leather not fully over.

Well is it different for corners then? Games gone!

I wouldn’t base it on this game.
Being 3 nil up at home to Southampton and losing is the one which will cost us.

I thought I'd get responses like this.

Of course yesterday's game won't be the main reason we go down but the difference between survival and relegation could be an inch.
