I have quite a bit of time for Rowett as a guy, he gets it. But has games haven’t been good enough so far. He has  4 games to put the right. Can’t see it happening.

I actually think 4 wins wouldn't be enough, we are down already.

I also like him, but it’s already over, would take a miracle for our shower to suddenly win all 4 games, and even if they did, there is a decent chance we’d still go down anyway

I would add that the evidence tells us that we don't have a squad who are fit for purpose for Premiership or Championship football either!

We have a squad which, for a large number of them has actually won the championship and players that have had international and Premier league careers.  That is what makes this squad so revolting.  Don't let them off the hook by accepting that they're not good enough.  They've been phoning it in for weeks.

Well if Blackburn don't beat Coventry on Friday, then 4 wins for us will guarantee we finish above them.  I'd go as far to say it'll probably be enough to finish above Oxford too, and possibly West Brom.

But could we win the next 4? Not a scooby doo. We could have won the last 3 if we wanted, and didn't manage to win a single one of them.

If by some miracle we've won the next two, I'm happy to revisit this conversation. But I can't see anything but a honking loss on Saturday, 3-0 to the Pompey. Quite likely we're relegated by 10pm Tuesday.

You are probably right.

Four wins would take us to 53 points. No EFL club has ever gone down with that many, although Peterborough United were relegated in 2012/13 with 54 points. We ourselves went down with 52 points in 2007/08, although that's the one total (less than 54) that we definitely can't achieve this season.

I’d be very surprised if went down with 53 points. However this is an academic point as we won’t get anywhere near that.

It would be a rare feat and I suppose West Brom getting any form of a deduction would make reaching 53 points difficult.

I think if west brom do get a points deduction it will be next season not this.

The EFL’s own rules state it must be imposed this season. If it’s delayed until next season and they end up getting a deduction that would have sent them down, you’d imagine the EFL would be facing serious legal action from whichever club comes third bottom.

Absolutely sweet FA will change.

Rowett IMO is too 'lilly livered' to actually do all that's needed.

We may get a few different faces against Pompey  like Hamza the Tw@t coming in, in the name of adding "some steel"  and  BdCR for "the experience " but the formation, style of play, application by players etc will mirror the previous matches.  More changes are required across all Facits of the match going squad, not just a few tweaks to face.

For me he's not the man to take us forward, his managerial style is not my cup of tea, it lacks imagination, it's dated and has next too no flexibility and he's certainly not the man I'd trust with any rebuild, we would end up with a squad of "experienced "aging journeyman with zero resale value content on winding their contacts down.

One more win, two draws and one defeat in the four remaining games would result us getting to 46 points. That would then exactly match the overall W/D/L outcome of the 2007/08 relegation season, when we ended with 6 more points and had a GD of only -3, compared with the current one of -10.

And Winks, after all the effort to run back from their box , didn’t anticipate their lad might pass to the scorer , so Winks had slowed his running!
LT feeble again- that was the moment we needed him to do his trademark jump on the oppos back !

I dislike Winks quite a lot and I don’t too he gives a shit particularly. However, I thought he was probably our best player on Saturday despite being pathetic for the goal. What a season huh.

If we lost one of our matches by a 1-goal margin and won one by an 8-goal margin, we could even end up with an identical GD of -3.

Imagine if we won 8-0 at Pompey, then drew our 2 home games, before losing 1-0 at Blackburn. ;)

Sadly, we can't finish with the same goals for/against as in 2007-08.

We've already scored 12 more than we did that season - and have already conceded 19 more.

"That's entertainment!"

Really? I think some of the stuff from the presser today was dreadful.

What is needed? I don't actually think there's anyone who could have come in and done anything with this squad, I really do believe that.

I get what you are saying, and with so few games left I think our 'goose is cooked'.

But Rowett has come in, and instead of actually changing stuff, from day one he has continued to play the same 4231, the same incompetent, uninterested, underperforming players week after week.

No sign of dropping the culprits obviously  not performing. We as fans have been able to identify them, so surly a professional manager can too

He had the opportunity after a week or so to identify and shut out the toxic bad eggs in the dressing room but didn't.

Yes our squad is limited, and short on real quality, but playing underperforming  and toxic players plain and simply hurts us both on and off the field. Stop it and if that means being brave and blooding youth a bit earlier so be it. Yes they lack experience and may make mistakes, but the weapons grade b3ll3nds they would be replacing in the squad have hardly covered themselves in glory.  At least you would get a workrate, some application, pride and interest on actually playing football. All of which is lacking at present and is a big contributing factor as to why we are in the sh1t.

So would Rowett or any other manager have got anything out of this lot I guess we'll never know without implementing the multiple changes needed to find out...

Wining Saturday will be a bigger miracle than winning the Premier League that’s how shit this team is

That's a bit much - even for FoxesTalk ranting!
