Took less than 10 minutes and it was very thorough. And to be honest, even if it had taken me double that, I'd have still enjoyed it more than watching 20 minutes of any of our games this season.

I know there's plenty of opportunities to dig at the club/owners/rudkin etc throughout, my only feedback is on the question around I think its how clear the club philosophy/how its being run/playing style is, I think its very clear, it would be good to have a follow up question on whether fans agree with all of that. For example for me its very clear, but I strongly disagree with it.

Sorry if I'm late to the table but, however valid the questions are, 73 questions is far too many for a survey. You've had this feedback and rejected it. I respect the time that's been taken to compile it and well done to everyone completing it, but a shorter survey in future would get better engagement

I think the reason for this is that if all of the questions were about the leadership (i.e. the ones we want to answer and express our disillusionment at) then they could just discount it as a disgruntled fans survey. This is a more thorough fan survey encompassing everything and should hopefully be taken more seriously.

 

Although with the level of delusion among the leadership at the club they'll almost certainly still manage to poo poo and ignore it.

The point is to actually have tangible information that the club can't simply keep ignoring and information that can be shared externally about how the fan base is feeling - not just a portion of people on Foxestalk or X. Things are bad at the moment but doing nothing definitely achieves nothing! 

 

As for far too many questions, it's 5 minutes of your time. Just crack on with, I'm sure everyone can sacrifice that time.

9. How clear is the Club's footballing identity? (defined by characteristics such as style of play, players and management recruitment profile, philosophy etc)

 

Very Fcuking clear!

 

Style of play: 4231, pass it round the back and concede a sloppy goal (preferably from a set piece). Repeat.

Player recruitment profile: Anyone willing to accept an absolute packed to do fcuk all, preferable if they're an absolute c**t as well. Must be selected from the Wasserman end of season sale (at no discount).

Manager recruitment profile: Literally anyone who will take it, must bring Winksy back into the fold, again.

Are you seriously suggesting that the people in charge at our football club would jump through hoops to avoid listening to the fans or taking any accountability for the situation they've created? 

They're not going to listen to it regardless of how it's set up.

The Trust do get to speak to the club and the club do take note of the comms that come from the Trust. We need solid evidence to back up any points that we make, otherwise it's too easy to dismiss it as a handful of people's opinions.

The clubs argument will be that the survey isn't unbiased as some questions are leading. Maybe something to note for future. Good survey though asking all the right type of questions.

Multiple collections is turned off on the survey - the only way people would be able to take the survey more than once is across multiple devices and that's true of any survey hosted on SurveyMonkey.

 

Unfortunately, that kind of thing is a little outside of our control - if the club were to try and take issue with that, that's on them...

Ok, worth us giving some extra context here on survey design...

 

We went to great lengths this year to achieve couple of things in particular:

 

1) Avoid accusations of leading questions/bias

2) Ensure we had the right topics covered

 

What this process looked like was making an appeal for individuals with expertise in survey design to step forward and help us. Three individuals did. We shared our survey from last year and asked them to pull it apart and give us guidance on things like question structure this year. They did so and we heeded their advice.

 

We re-grouped as a team of about 10 people (across the spectrum on their views about the club and owners) and said "What do we want to ask again? What did we not ask last year that is important to ask this year? What might we need a data point on in the next 12 months as we think ahead?". Each person in that team had to share back what they thought we should ask about and then we set about drafting the survey.

 

The survey is comprehensive because it needs to be - even so, as others have said, it shouldn't take more than 10 minutes to complete.

 

With a first draft ready, we went back to our three volunteers with survey design experience and shared the questions with them. They had some suggested edits, we made those edits.

 

We then had around 15 people test the survey - the questions, the functionality (not everyone answers all questions - some sections you get pushed on if follow on questions aren't relevant for you based on prior responses), the time it takes to complete. We tweaked things off the back of that testing.

 

And then we launched. We leafleted at Portsmouth, will be out on the streets again tonight ahead of Hull and before Millwall. We'll be leafleting in Blackburn. We have shared across social media. We have a rota of fan channels and media channels to hit where we will publicise the survey and ask people to complete. We've shared with all other fan groups and asked them to share with their members to take the survey as well. 

 

If anyone - the club or any individual - has issue with the results of this survey, there isn't much more as a Supporters Trust comprised of volunteers and those that step forward to offer help on an ad hoc basis that we can do in all honesty!

 

The survey will achieve at least one of two things: force the club to listen and take action, or show (very publicly) how the Club responds to fan feedback. Right now, as the Trust pushes for change on the issues that matter to fans most, both of those things have value.
