I was watching this video this morning in bed before I got up.

This made me slam my laptop lid shut. Couldn't ****ing believe it. This is what people mean by KPFC. They support King Power, not Leicester City.

@OnlyOneCity you know when you were saying that KPFC isn't a thing, well this proves otherwise really.

They even went as far as to clap harry winks to make a point, when we scored numerous of them stood up to face the standing section and give some abuse

A notable one was a large woman in sunglasses (at night)

These people can not be real, genuienly dumbfounded me

Last I checked it's a free country and you can do what you like.

The last time we were relegated to L1, there wasn't this wave of hate towards our own fans and blaming them.

Guess it's just part of the social media age.

If you’re too thick to understand the massive difference between this relegation and the last one then there’s no helping you.

I can understand why some people feel the need to clap but I can’t understand the anger at those not clapping or booing. These are players who were thought of as Champions league quality and some who have a good chance of playing the Champions league in the future (James & Mukasa… not Fats). I believe Rowett has tried to light a fire under them and also made sure they walked round and applauded the fans, I didn’t realise until Leicester Fan Tv said they missed some of the stadium.

we were let down by some tippy tappy football for the first goal and actually did well going more direct.

I’m genuinely confused by those trying to clap out the booing when winks came on, he told someone t F off after a match while on getting on the bus, that’s not family entertainment, that’s swearing and now it’s on social media so kids can see how to behave in public.

Haven’t Wednesday been playing their youth players, like fans have been crying out for here. People on this forum have been saying it’s sort of good that not many younger players were involved tonight to protect them. But the reality is our younger players have been starved of minutes on the pitch for a few years so using them in the last three games is a bit moot. It’s likely some current players with few or no minutes will be starting next season. They’ll be strong tackles coming in next seasonand a lot of the players that have come through recently have been seen to be a bit light weight. Injuries incoming?

I think some people see entertainment in a pounds per minute way, keep the kids entertained for a couple of hours for X amount of money and football is now part of that. Is Winks swearing and Hamza telling fans he’s staying next season part of the entertainment value?

I'm confused by people on this forum linking Covid deniers with those who stayed indoors trying not to spread the virus and clapping the NHS workers who were dying at work with not enough correct PPE, but whose sacrifice is washed over or indeed co opted by those who sold the NHS the dodgy PPE in the first place.

Beer at the football is something I’ll not do again, I can’t take it to my seat and don’t feel the need to socialise in the soulless concourse. I doubt I’ll get to my seat early again as the highlights reel I like to watch will now include a lot of the last 4 seasons.

Moan about tigers fans all you like but they aren’t as vocal at Welford Road as they used to be anyway. Plenty of actual bars at the Welford Road ground and a bit of variety too. If you don’t like Rugby fans then you might have to suck it up when visiting Rugby fans come to see the “once mighty Leicester City FC” on a double match Saturday and can now actually get tickets.

Yeah great post.

And yes to be clear there has been far more bile from those that support king power in the actual stadium and in person .

And those are the group of fans that annoy me most, apathy I can somewhat take as I do understand the mentality of someone just wanting to watch the football without being over analytical, emotional or overly invested in it, my old dears like that.

Those type of supporters clearly have the passion to shout and scream, and in some cases smash drums, they are just using that energy in completely the wrong direction.

I'd looked at it as stubbornness from one side coming up against not-always-particularly-well-articulated outrage on the other. People who have nailed their colours to the mast long since and aren't going to allow changing circumstances or evidence to sway them, and then those who are so incensed at the sheer incompetence that has led to the ship sinking that they've not yet composed themselves enough to figure out where the life rafts are. And (with apologies for the silly nautical metaphors) even when they do, they're not going to be sharing a boat with the other lot, who were too busy sharing nibbles and enjoying the Titanic band's last waltz to acknowledge that the whole bastard ship had been impaled by an iceberg.

But this is why I'd asked you. I think we're probably in agreement here, because I've also laboured the point that sooner or later we're going to have to come together as a fanbase again. If we don't, then in the worst case scenario where the whole thing collapses we won't even have a phoenix, because that requires agreement on the successor club. You'd have one set of people saying 'you lot caused this with your (delete as appropriate) negativity / refusal to hold people account for their gross negligence. You're not welcome.'

And as you've said before, there needs to be unity if we're to effect positive change before things get to that point. Some of us have to remind ourselves why people are going to cherish Vichai's memory, find it near impossible to revile his son, and be grateful that the latter continues to pay the bills. You'll convince those people that Rudkin should go, Top should take a step back, things should be radically overhauled, and maybe even that KP should sell up, but you won't convince them to hate Top or hound him out. Neither will you have much success in slating fans for attending matches or applauding improved displays or refusing to attend protests alongside those who, as you say, would have Vichai's statue at the foot of the canal with a Cambodia flag round it.

So yes, point taken.

And yourself, very much point taken.

Not sure what the problem is of holding up the scarf we got at the game that celebrated the life of the guy that actually brought us success tbh, That's not a scarf for Top is it, it's for his Dad. It's not like it's got "King Power" written on it

Completely understand the contempt for Top, but not his Dad, maybe he's holding it up as a protest for how badly the club has fallen since the helicopter accident?

I think that’s a pretty unlikely scenario.

Engaging in this kind of basic critical thinking for 5 seconds isn't welcome here!

While I agree with the general KP out sentiment, some people have gone off the deep end a little bit and work themselves up into a frenzy over anything they perceive as counter-revolutionary behaviour even when it's a totally out of context still image of perfectly explicable behaviour like the one here. Reminds me very much of Covid where people were posting photos of people on semi empty beaches screaming about how selfish and irresponsible they were. People these days really like to "slam their laptop lids shut" to quote the post above yours.

I'm on the other side of the section but could see her and her husband. Having a go at any chance.

Why?

Is the next step demanding everybody ritualistically burning their "Mr Chairman" scarfs outside the ground on Friday?

What about smashing the statue down outside the ground?

I mean c'mon man seriously, people are just finding excuses to be more and more angry atm

Just for the record I completely understand the booing, and I'm also extremely pissed off about the whole relegation / board situation, I just don't think targeting fans holding up a scarf commemorating the death of the guy that made us successful is a particularly maddening situation

The mouth breathers continue to spout their unintelligent nonsense on facebook.

Might have to actually move out of the county full stop at this rate. Get me away from the most characterless people in England.

The scenes at full-time yesterday just proved how split our fanbase is, it feels like it’s split into three sections.

Many stayed last night to vent their anger at the demise of the club.

Many filtered out at the full-time whistle because they just cba anymore, they are apathetic to the situation.

Then you have those who for some reason will continue to support King Power and clap the team. It’s unfathomable to me why some fans feel the need to clap the players, a bunch of players who gave them nothing back this season, and have now secured back-to-back relegations, it’s bizarre. Do they have a mindset where they are sympathetic towards Top because of the tragedy? Do they just not care about our situation, because we’ve been in League 1 before? Or are they just brainwashed and deluded?

I guess I’ve answered my own questions there, because if you ask the clappers how they are feeling, you’ll probably get a mixture of those three things.

I think this plays a large part.

I didn't see many people at the game last night that were happy tbh

I don't really understand people clapping the team tbh, I definitely wasn't clapping last night, but holding up a scarf that was given to us in commemoration of our late owner who bought us success shouldn't be linked with this situation as something to have a go at a fan about publically on an internet forum imo

There's a difference between being happy and showing anger.

You know what. I went into this season, after last seasons horrible disaster with an intention to enjoy it. I thought, we’d be in and around the playoffs - maybe a few new players to get around, won’t win every game but time to draw a line under the hate and move forward.

Within 3 weeks of the new season, after the shitshow that was preseason - I went to back to **** them and it!

Every fan wants to see a side compete - not necessarily win every thing and game but compete. This year, effort and competition has been the biggest issue. Called out by many outside the club. You can see it on the pitch - clear as day.

How you can clap that is mind boggling.

Because the last time we relegated to L1, fans didn’t clap. The stadium was a morgue as Wednesday celebrated and then the game at Stoke

To the point that I don't go around insulting people because they have a different opinion.

I was thinking the same thing, I can’t remember people clapping before as we we’re relegated over the last 35years I’ve been going.
Just seems weird behaviour to me but each to their own.

I bet there were some clappers then, there just wasn't all the fuss. There's sections of the stadium that always will. Acting like this is a new thing is what I don't get.

Our Glorious Leader shrugging, the gormless twerp next to him running the place and people mindlessly applauding complete, abject failure.

Worra club.

I agree - difference at that Sheffield Wednesday game was there was 29k. Meaning the drongos were outnumbered by normal people

Last night we were down to the bare bones of 15k drongos. Anyone normal (bar 300 or so who'd gone to boo) has long since checked out.

The vast majority of supporters are for LCFC. Someone holding up a Chairman scarf doesn’t invalidate that claim. I don’t know why people cannot accept the fact that the support is for the City and not KP. Where are the pictures of fans holding up City scarves? So there are people who are reluctant to show opposition for the owner. Doesn’t make them representative of the very vast majority of fans.
