be a decent addition mind

He's a centre forward that's scored more than 10 goals once in his entire career.

Most of it in the lower leagues.

He's 28.

He'd be a ****ing abysmal signing on anything other than a very low cost 1 year deal which we obviously aren't going to give him.

They've cleared the decks and got rid of their dreadful owner though, and we've done neither of those.

Never thought I'd be envious of them.

Yep Needs to be a short term deal.

I thought he was decent in the prem when I watch them. Real handful. Got 10 goals in 27 games.

But other than that and one other decent season at champ level he's been very patchy and had a very serious injury.

They will win the league comfortably.

you do realise they got hammered by Stoke in a pre-season the other day?
I know its pre-season but theyve needed just numbers in anyway, so saying theyll win the league comfortably isnt a given

Last season made mistakes with Ramsey and Lascelles who were coming back from injuries tried to get Antonio too. Just seem to make the same gambles year on year. Unless this is one of two say Dom Ballard or similar I can see Leicester being in a hell of a predicament with a side full of midfielders no width or cutting edge.

yet some on here jizzed their nuts at Ings coming in....also them 10 goals were in the premier league, and he scored 16 in the championship in 21/22 season;

why the hype for Ballard then when hes not scored in the champ or prem....... ;)

i wouldnt even call him an abysmal signing, as frankly the past 3/4 yrs we have seen and paid for alot worse

It's wild to me that people still put any stock in pre-season scoreline.

That's not me weighing in one way or another on Wednesday. I've paid no attention at all to who they've signed.

But losing to Stoke in a friendly means exactly **** all.

isnt that the same Wednesday signing a load of players and now people think they are going to win the league no....??

forgetting the fact Wednesday had a squad last season that was bare bones....with loans and youth players,

its all context really

All true, but their manager Henrik Pedersen looks particularly poor to me.

I wouldn't want him here. He'll be gone as soon as they go on a losing streak of about three to four, mark my words

Mcfarlane has been there, not Adebayo.

Surely points to Woyo being on the way out?

If that’s the case don’t hate this at all. Decent option to rotate with LT, and presumably mccarron knows of him

Can't Woyo play both sides?

Even so, I'd say he's still the least of our (many) problems. I'd try and get rid of other players first.

why? We will have to loan a number of players I would imagine

If we're getting loans with no buying option they need to have some experience. We've got enough young uns to fit in the team without adding to that and developing them. Besides there's no guarantee he'll perform and loans are a big risk - look at last season.

At this level, I'd keep Woyo.

I'll be honest, I've not seen what all the hype is with J Joseph!

I can clearly see how good Aluko is right now and his future potential.

For me I'd be happy with Woyo, Aluko, Thomas and this new chap. JJ to go out on loan

Woyo will leave and JJ will be part of the squad imo.

JJ has more league experience than Aluko and contributed 3 goals and 3 assists at League 2 level, which is decent for a 19 year old in a struggling side.

Nothing against Elijah Adebayo, I'm sure he'd be good at this level if fit but I don't think Leicester should be taking that risk.

This season we're putting so much blind faith into things -

1. RM can arrested his career slide

2. That Mavididi, BDR and Chaplin can at least double their goal totals from last season

3. That some of our untested youth is good enough for League One

We don't need to add more variables into the mix by hoping that a player who hasn't played for a season will be fit enough for a 50+ game season and will be able to positively contribute.

We did this last time we were in league one and last time the same complaints around players that were young and straight loans, it worked then and whether you like it or not we will utilise the same approach too. Firstly we should be recruiting players with a right profile for the positions we're weakest in, the options for a loan with experience (without a fee) will be difficult to get right, especially this late in the window! We loaned absolute dross in the form of the likes of Edouard and we would have been better placed getting a young hungry loanee.

Unless we bring in actual money from the remaining sellable assets we will struggle to spend any money to bring in the RIGHT players with experience.

We're more than likely limited to  looking at frees and loans, we're scaping the barrel in terms of quality, premier league youngsters at the back end of the window will help to fill certain gaps, will likely see two or three at least.

Whilst I agree about putting blind faith into things, what other options do you suggest?

Our known quantities have had 2 straight relegations and it looks like we can only shop in the free or loan market to add to these.

Any player that can GUARANTEE a good season in League One will be picked up by Championship clubs hoping they can step up.

The jury will be out with anybody we pick up.

We simple have no money to buy a better option, we are in free or loan market.

I still think our scouting and recruitment network ought to be working better. This cannot pay a transfer fee is a red herring, what we cannot afford is a transfer fee for the types of player we'd ordinarily scout, the agent fee and the vast wages.

Only have to look at what our agents fees where in 25/26 despite not paying a transfer fee. We just do not have any innovation to adjust to where we find ourselves.

There's unpolished talent from across the world who would cost less in transfer fee, agent fee and wages combined that what we'll have offered Danny Ings for example.

Every young inexperienced player that you add to the team pushes out one of our own young players, there's only so many young inexperienced players he'll include in the team.
