3 years incoming id imagine.

Please try and find out if we’re in for Dom Ballard mate 😂

There’s probably an easy way to answer that yourself. Does he cost money?

If it's true re Adebayo, it proves we are looking at loans or frees because we have not a pot to pee in.  For the record, we, now are a lower league  club.

IF and it's a big IF he remains injury free, perhaps he can do a job at league 1 level.

It's the ridiculous contract RUDKIN will put him on I fear the most.

Still, I will give the bloke the benefit of the doubt he can't be worse than Daka.............

Surely it’s about time one of these deals works out for us. If he stays fit and gets 10 goals then I’d say we’ve done well (assuming he’s not the main striker we are targeting)

there’s a lot of games at this level, I think we need 3 good options. Otchere deserves a go. Adebayo offers something a bit different but it really means we need to get the cheque book out for that main striker. If the club are thinking adebayo will lead the line for a 55 game season after 2 years out,  then we are in big trouble

Prepare for a meltdown… the deal is longer than that

Didnt we give Marty James a 4 year deal after his big injury? Expecting the same here. 😂

I mean obviously, nobody out of contract at his age is going to take a one year deal. It'll be three to five won't it.

Whilst I agree about putting blind faith into things, what other options do you suggest?

Our known quantities have had 2 straight relegations and it looks like we can only shop in the free or loan market to add to these.

Any player that can GUARANTEE a good season in League One will be picked up by Championship clubs hoping they can step up.

The jury will be out with anybody we pick up.

I agree with everything you're saying, this might be the case that it's the best we can do but we didn't go for Ings because he failed a medical, I can't see how the man who's basically not played properly since April 2025 could be in a better position to help us.

I know you can't guarantee performances or fitness but I feels like we're bringing in a player who can't guarantee either of those things but we're less than 3 weeks away from the first game of the season, I suppose beggars can't be choosers!

Ings has one foot in the grave and was always injured.

This guy is arguably in his athletic prime and has had one very serious injury.

There's going to be a problem with anyone we sign isn't there. If they were perfect they wouldn't be coming to a debt ridden League One club on a free transfer.

I'm far more concerned about the fact he's actually just quite crap tbh.

We need a striker that is going to come in and lead the line and also score goals. Adebayo will most likely spend majority of any time not playing due to injury. It's a no from me.

The risk isn't worth it. The lack of links is worrying and shows what we all know....we don't have any money and will not be buying any player of note.

He has shown in the past that he can actually be quite effective. He scored 10 goals in a premier league campaign and had scored 16 in a championship campaign not long before. My concern is he's had a big injury and is unfit/crocked. He also had a bad season for Luton when they were relegated from the championship. Luton were honking overall that season though.

Are we talking about Keillor Dunn or Adebayo here??

My assumption was Adebayo was a red herring, possibly confused with Mcfarlane who was at Seagrave today, and Keillor Dunn is who were actually signing. Doesn’t help both are 28 😂

For all that's holy.. is there any chance of getting in a striker in or are we just going to take a leaf out of the once tried Scottish experiment and play a 4-6-0 formation??

Seriously messing with my mental health

Happy with 6’4 striker and a young LB that is at an age where we could probably buy next year, feels like smart business. I’d say maybe one more striker and definitely a right winger then it’s jsut replacing the outgoings

I still think our scouting and recruitment network ought to be working better. This cannot pay a transfer fee is a red herring, what we cannot afford is a transfer fee for the types of player we'd ordinarily scout, the agent fee and the vast wages.

Only have to look at what our agents fees where in 25/26 despite not paying a transfer fee. We just do not have any innovation to adjust to where we find ourselves.

There's unpolished talent from across the world who would cost less in transfer fee, agent fee and wages combined that what we'll have offered Danny Ings for example.

Scout network isnt going to change over night, I'm hopefully this will improve under JM.

Agreed that as a Free transfer this one may not be too bad. The Luton fans certainly loved him during his time there (when fit).

We definitely need to sign another striker, to ensure we have cover during injuries. With this guy being on the large/physical side, then I wouldn't be surprised if DKD was that other striker, to offer us something different.

One other thing re: Adebayo. Granted I am scraping the barell a bit here!

If the choice of Free strikers was either him or Danny Ings then I am happy that we have gone for this guy. The potential upside of this is a lot higher than say Danny Ings. If Adebayo can play 30 games, then I reckon he easily gets 10 goals at L1 level. He has also scored at Championship level, should we be lucky enough to find ourselves back there after 1 season.

One concern is that apparently Bristol fans have said how unfit he looks on trial there. If that is true, then that is worrying.

He got into Double figures in the premier league I believe?

Why didn't Luton keep him? Was it his call to not sign a new deal?

Another ridiculous signing. A non scoring crock.

Adebeyo is a risk worth taking in my opinion.

It’s clear we’re not paying a fee for anyone, especially if there’s a potential deal for the club being discussed….

But he’s proven at this level and will probably get you at least 15 goals.
